Food was delicious (really like the pearl roll), and our server Katie was amazing and very professional. Highly recommend!

I was looking forward to trying this place after seeing it on social media, but in my opinion, it wasn’t worth it. If you’ve had any hand rolls before, these ones are lacking and very subpar.

Service took quite some time to have our orders taken, and while we all did our individual orders, the hand rolls were served by kind and not by each person’s order. So we were left to figure it out whose was which when we were served plates of rolls.

Filling in the hand rolls were subpar and also not presented nicely (cucumber hanging out and not cut?) Also had some odd flavourings, such as kimchi mixed in one of the hand rolls.

We also ordered the platter of small dishes that weren’t hand rolls. Not worth it in my opinion. One of the 5 small appetizers on the platter was sliced cucumber. The chicken had a very odd taste and sauce to it that was slightly off putting.

Overall, didn’t feel authentic nor was the food up to expectations.

Tried Oori Nori for the first time this week. We got the appetizer platter and everything on there was delicious. My favorite was the pork belly. The hand rolls could have been better as the seaweed was kind of chewy and the toppings inside were slim. Service was alright but my water glass was empty for about 20 minutes before being refilled and a hair was on my cutlery when I arrived.

Came in as a table of 3 adults and each of us ordered a handroll set. Friend and I ordered the 6 handroll set and hubby ordered the 5 handroll set.

The rolls were flavourful and each roll was distinct and unique. However, I found them difficult to chew as the seaweed was quite thick (they were wrapped around itself 2-3x?). I had to eventually dip the rolls in soy sauce (which the rolls didn’t need for flavour) to get the rolls softer. I think the reason for this might be due to the rice being cold…

Hope the photos can illustrate this better than I can put into words.

Service was fine; we were greeted and seated quickly, was briefed on menu. Our server didn’t really ask how we were doing or how the food was. Food and drinks came quickly.

In summary, fabulous concept but I’m not enthused enough to come back.

(Note that this is for the Oori Nori Pop Up)

Waited over 30 minutes for a table thay we have reserved. 4 tables who showed up after us all got seated. We were 10 minutes early for our reservation, so we actually waited 40 minutes. My friends didn't get sat until after I walked out when the 4th table was being seated (whose reservation was at 8:30, so I guess they get to be on time) because I'm not willing to pay that price for that lack of service. Will not come back to try a bite. Do not recommend unless you're extremely patient. Can't rate the food because I'm no longer willing to pay to try it.

First of all, the reviews for this place is incorrect as it took the original restaurant’s reviews. We didn’t realize until after we tried the restaurant and notice the pictures and the number of reviews didn’t match.

The handrolls were not served immediately which made the seaweed tough and soggy. Sake served in a wine glass. It was just disappointment overall. As I saw a lot of IG posts about this place. Do not fall for the pictures or stories about this place. Overpriced, lack of creativity and cheap ingredients, if anyone made reservations, cancel it and go somewhere! Don’t waste money or your date night with disappointment!

Fantastic experience here! Service was great but not overbearing. Food was delicious. Portions were perfect for me but may be a bit small for some.

Decided to try out the hand roll pop up after seeing it on IG, have always loved Sensei bar so we were pretty excited. The menu was small and with no substitutions there was minimal options for anyone with any dietary restrictions, but we ordered from their individual hand roll menu.
Prior to ordering the waitress told us people don’t seem to like them much, so don’t order too many.
Ordered the waygu beef and shrimp ones and as other reviewers have mentioned the seeweed was not good at all, super tough and hard to bite.
The taste was pretty good, but it was hard to enjoy with the poor seeweed.

Went to McDonald’s after to fill up.

Given the hype surrounding this resturant it was dissapointing how lackluster the food and service was. The Tokyo Kozara was good, while the sushi taco did taste quite bland the rest of the dish was relatively flavorful.

However, the rolls were dissapointing. We had ordered the 4 handroll set and the 6 handroll set, with the exception of the pearl roll all other rolls were underwhelming. The wait time between ordering and getting the food was also inexplicably long, neighbouring tables had been sat, served, and left before the first rolls hit our table, and when they did the seaweed was no longer crisp.

Extremely confusing / money grab who thought of this horrible concept?? Was expecting standards of sister restaurant Olea but my table is full of junk with barely any space to move or eat. Food is not authentic and this place has no intention behind their food menu. Drinks were good and server was nice but also confused at the set up and apologized for the lack of authenticity. For simple
Hand rolls this was not simple. The appetizers came out on a plate that was the size of a new born baby. Don’t follow tik tok trends. Who runs this restaurant. Shame on you for making it insufferable internally and externally.

Seaweed was poor quality for what you pay for. Sometimes hard to bite the roll, sometimes good. Maybe the rolls were just left on the counter when it should have been served right away?

In addition, could not accommodate for allergies, had to pay $5 more and get individual rolls instead of just swapping a shrimp roll for a salmon roll in their 5 roll platter, which doesn’t actually make that much sense.

Wouldn’t really recommend, food takes a while, was average and at that price point, atleast be able to swap a tempura roll for a salmon roll maybe?
