Some of the meat was not very fresh and had a strange smell. The server in the striped top was extremely rude — while I was getting a drink in the beverage area, she actually used physical gestures to make me move aside, which was outrageous. I will definitely not be coming back.

Great variety, everything was fresh and delicious. Really enjoyed the spicy soup base. Will definitely come back! However, I wouldn’t recommend bringing kids for the all-you-can-eat option—it’s half price regardless of age.

Finally found a hot pot place where you can choose/pick what you want. :) It's a good place to eat while catching up with your friends or family. The food is okay, lots of options; thus, the spicy soup base is really spicy🌶️. They have chicken nuggets and sesame balls (butchi) too which I find veryyy yummyyyy! 😉

It's so down-to-earth, the service attitude of the merchants is meticulous and enthusiastic, and the taste is not much different from the food in Beijing. Like manually!

Wow! Finally an affordable AYCE hot pot experience in SW Calgary!

Shang shang qian (skewer hot pot) is such a cool spot! The self-serve skewer system is genius—no more fishing around for lost meat at the bottom of the pot, and it’s way easier to keep track of what each person put in the hot pot.

The staff was super friendly and explained everything right away. You pay $36 per person for all-you-can-eat skewers (grab them straight from the fridges!) and just buy one broth for the table. Sauces are extra (around $1.80), and trust me, they’re worth it—so tasty!

What I loved most was how the skewers make it easy to grab just what you want. No more ordering a giant tray of meat when you just want one or two pieces! It also cuts down on waste, which is a bonus.

If you’re into hot pot and want something fun and easy, give Shangshangqian a try. It’s such a good vibe, and the food is awesome! 🙌🔥

Very expensive. They charge twice as much as competitors for soup base. They also charge extra for dipping sauce! The vegetable selection was limited, and the veggies had dirt on them.

Great atmosphere and food! Cumin beef and beef tongue are the best! Try their traditional dipping sauce as well! I definitely go again!
