Iâve had better shawarma from a gas station, believe me. People are giving out 5-star ratings like candyârigged system! Expectations were sky-high, and what did I get? Big disappointment. I used to get chicken shawarma here like once a week before I moved away from Calgary in 2021. I've tried dozens of shawarma and donair places all over Canada and they always just end up disappointing me. Never found anything in Vancouver that is remotely as good as shawarma ave, so whenever I come back to Calgary to visit friends or family I stop in for a chicken shawarma and it just slaps every time.
Consistent, perfectly-spiced, delicious. I hope this place never changes.

We had the falafel and hummus twice and it was exceptional both times. The hummus is the tastiest weâve ever had. Also, their coconut cake and little pistachio treats are delicious. Finally, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
