I came in with an acquaintance who wanted to catch up with a group of her friends who were having drinks at Shelter. She went to the bathroom and apparently took too long so a staff member approached the table and asked me to do something about it. I felt uncomfortable because I did not know the person well enough to enter a bathroom that she was using. I also felt targeted as there were other people at the table (who actually knew this person and whom she was sitting amongst) that didn't get the same arduous request from the staff member. I expressed my concern and my boundaries which weren't taken kindly. I was asked to leave because I wouldn't intrude on this person in the bathroom- nobody else. It felt grossly biased. One can be a person of color and present with light skin and "pass". I'm not one of those people. I felt very uncomfortable that the whole table wasn't addressed and I was the one who the staff directed demands to. There's nothing wrong with sharing an honest experience. I hope this review serves as a means to improve practices when someone takes too long in the bathroom. Perhaps address the whole table, not just one person. Or, better yet, address the person causing the problem directly.

I love the ambiance of this cocktail bar, the music, and the cocktails are phenomenal. It’s a nice place to catch up with friends over a few drinks. It’s defiantly worth checking out!
Atmosphere was really romantic and pleasant. The bubble tea cocktail was tasty, everything else was ok for my taste. Excited to see their new menu with more sweet cocktails, right now options are very limited.One thing that is very inconvenient is the waitlist. You never know when you will get the table and when you do you have 10 min to get there, or it will be a no show.

Extremely interesting atmosphere, kinda erie with the gas masks and strange pictures . Not to dark and good music at a level that you can still talk. Not impressed with the drinks though. I ordered a paralyzer, and they didn't have milk, so I asked for a rum and 7. They didn't have 7up or sprite so he 'made up' a drink that he said would taste like a run and 7, it didn't. For $16 a drink, I expected more. My friend ordered a Virgin Pina Colada and was given cream with pineapple juice and charged $12. Didn't try the food, wasn't offered a menu. Nice waiter, very friendly. Would be a great place to go with friends for an intimate evening out especially if you enjoy fancy cocktails.Parking: Lucked out and got street parking right infront otherwise, it would have been a bit of a walk.
