I hope no one else has this experience at Sky360—I hope it was just a one-off.

We had the worst experience ever at Sky360 for the YYC EXP lunch yesterday. We went specifically for the YYC EXP lunch menu, but they only gave us the regular menu. When I asked for the YYC EXP menu, the waitress said she wasn’t sure if it was still available. I was puzzled since it was only day two of the promotion—I even started doubting whether I had the right date.

When we finally got the menu, she told us the beef tartare was unavailable. I asked why, and she just said they didn’t have it, without offering any alternatives or substitutions, even when I asked. We checked the regular menu, but we weren’t as interested in it as the EXP menu.

With only one option for the first course, we got the kale salad, steak sandwich, fish and chips, and both types of desserts. The three kale salads were noticeably different in size—one was tiny, and another barely had any croutons. The steak sandwiches were okay, and I asked for Dijon mustard, but the waitress said no right the way, so I asked for mustard. Twenty minutes later, another waitress came by and simply said they didn’t have mustard, then walked away without giving me a chance to ask anything. I was puzzled—beef tartare typically requires mustard, and even basic burgers have mustard. Is this some new trend I’m unaware of?

Soon after, I overheard our waitress talking to the table next to us, telling them that the beef tartare was available. When I asked her about it, she said she hadn’t been aware the kitchen was preparing it while she was picking up our plates. She gave a forced apology, but her tone was rude, and she walked away immediately. I was left thinking—what is going on?!

A while later, the manager came by and politely asked about our experience. I told him the whole story and how we felt about it. He was understanding and said he would do something for our bill. In the end, we got a 10% discount…

For dessert, another waitress came by and simply dropped off the plates at the table without even ensuring they went to the right people—it was a complete “touch and go” service.

I really don’t know if this is the new standard of service now or if Sky360 has always been like this. 🫠

A small and old tower. It took less than an hour for visit if you only went for the tower not eating

We were there recently for our anniversary and finally just ended up leaving after waiting an hour (of our 2 hour dinner reservation) to actually be moved to a table by a window, the whole point of this restaurant is the view. We watched a table in another servers section sit completely empty for over 10 minutes and were denied when we asked to move. The appetizer we had was good but the atmosphere and service were completely not worth the price of the food they serve. Maybe this restaurant should explain on there website that your not guaranteed a seat with the 360 degree view so others don’t waste there time. If we had not refused to have our entrees brought out until we were moved we would have finished our entire meal before ever getting a table by the windows. It’s sky360 not sky360 with a view of a strangers head the whole meal. Definitely disappointed and will not bother trying to eat here again.

The food was okay, but the service was great. You’ll likely come here more for the vibe and the view of the tower than the food itself. Overall, it’s a good dining experience that’s also kid-friendly. Plus, you get a discount for the observation floor, which is a nice bonus.

After booking a 9:00 reservation, I received a text from the restaurant informing me that it was their last seating and to ensure our entire party arrived on time. No problem, my boyfriend rushed to get to the restaurant in time and when we took the elevator upstairs the hostess gave us a card with our reservation marked 9:00-11:00 (standard reservation time). At 9:15 we were informed that the kitchen was doing last call almost 2 hours before closing?? At the end of the meal, after ordering dessert, our server dropped our cheque on the table (long before our time was scheduled to end) without saying a thing or asking if we needed anything else although we had debated ordering one last round of drinks. She also did not ask about food sensitivities or allergies and when the meals were brought out, my boyfriend's meal had zucchini on it which he is allergic to and we had missed when ordering. Yes we should have read the menu more carefully but a server, especially in an establishment like this one, should ALWAYS check for these things.
We both work in hospitality so we understand having off days but last call more than an hour and a half before closing is really strange if you're going to seat people 2 hours before close. The whole experience felt rushed which sucked because we were celebrating a birthday and specifically picked Sky 369 for an out of the ordinary dining experience. While the view and the rotating floor was beautiful, Major Tom has great views and much better service.

Nothing works except for the environment. For the first time in my life, I didn’t eat the mutton because it was too tangy.

I was kind of thrown off when they required my credit card just to make a reservation. Just seems unnecessary considering when we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, with just 2 other tables eating.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner, hoping for some romantic ambience. Instead — we were seated right beside a family of four with 2 loud and energetic toddlers. They were yelling, running around, jumping on the chairs and on the ledges. (Keep in mind the restaurant was empty, but they put us at the table directly beside 2 annoying kids)

The food was abysmal. I ordered the BBQ AB Chicken. It lacked seasoning, the sauce was weird, and it was literally just a chicken leg and thigh — no sides. I guess I should have asked if it came with fries or potatoes or rice or something, but come on… really? $50 for a 2-piece chicken. WOW. It did have onions, but those were soggy and drenched in the weird sauce, so I didn’t eat them.

My girlfriend got the Seared Pacific Scallops. Her plate also lacked flavour and the food wasn’t even hot. She also got an espresso martini and it wasn’t even in a martini glass. Just a regular cup.

I asked an employee where I could find the washroom and she said “Just keep walking around until you see a sign”… thanks for nothing.

The men’s washroom was filthy and the paper towel dispenser was empty.

Overall I was extremely disappointed with the experience, I would have rather taken my girlfriend to Wendy’s than this excuse of a luxury restaurant.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY and don’t come here.

An exceptionally disappointing evening at the Calgary Tower.
We were to go to the Sky 360 restaurant last night for celebratory dinner. We arrived around 5:00pm for a 5:30pm reservation only to be told the restaurant wouldn't be opening just yet as there was a problem in the restaurant and our reservation had been pushed back to 5:45pm. That seemed OK so we obviously went with that.
We were told we could go up to the observation deck to wait. Over the next hour and a half we received no updates. At 6:30 we were told they hoped to open at 6:45pm, however at 6:45pm we were told that our reservation had been cancelled. Nobody came up from the restaurant to explain why or offer us any compensation, nothing! When spoken to, the manager said he could do nothing for us - not a future reservation, not a gift card, not even comp parking.
We understand that things happen but how it's handled makes all the difference and this couldn't have been handled any worse. Needless to say we won't be back.

My boyfriend and I had a reservation for 5:30 and were told to wait until 6. They kept pro longing the wait and eventually told us our reservation was canceled over an hour later. Poor communication and overall unprofessional behaviour from most staff. Would not recommend to anyone

Went there at like 8 on a Monday and they wouldn't let me go up to eat said they were full for the night. 🤷

Ice cold eggs Benedict. Over easy eggs had both yolks broken but still cooked like rocks and served. Horrible fries. The server was great though. Felt sorry for her. Just go up to the viewing area to see the view and go somewhere decent for brunch. Over priced & awful.

The food was reasonably priced and quite good, while the cocktails were excellent. The service was average, but the atmosphere was exceptional. Overall, I would definitely recommend Sky 360.
