This is our families favourite spot! This wholesome family owned restaurant is not only a delightful atmosphere, the food is outstanding! Don’t dine in without trying their phenomenal homemade cheesecake for dessert!! Great food, great service, even great parking around the back. Five Star!
Kid-friendliness: Our children love Spiros famous pizza. They insist on dining in regularly. They ask the waitress to put a piece of cheesecake aside as soon as they walk through the door lol

Pizza is great, great crust and sauce. Staff are friendly
The blonde lady at the front was very rude. Unpolite with customers, unfriendly and shouldn’t be working there. She should learn how to treat every person with respect and kindness. I would never come to this restaurant again because of how terrible her attitude and manners were.

I’ve been coming to Spiros on 17th for years, and it’s no surprise this family-run treasure has been a staple since 1969. Nestled at the corner of 33rd Street and 17th Ave SW, Spiros is hands-down the best spot in Calgary for pizza and Greek food. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm service and a cozy, relaxing vibe that makes every meal feel special.
The food? Absolutely incredible. Their pizza is a perfect balance of crispy crust and fresh toppings, and the Greek dishes—like the tender souvlaki and creamy tzatziki—are bursting with authentic flavor. Whether I’m grabbing lunch, dinner, or ordering takeout, it’s always a treat. Speaking of takeout, their delivery is a lifesaver—dinner brought right to your door, piping hot and delicious!
Spiros isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a family legacy that shines through in every bite and every smile from the staff. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. Five stars all the way!

Paid $16 for a half order when the full order was $19. Makes no sense. Rip job. Waitress didn’t even explain that I could've ordered a full meal and split it between my kids.

Spiros is quite easily one of my favourite restaurants. The food is to die for. Authentic Greek. If you’re lucky enough to catch a seasonal special, take full advantage. I had the best lamb of my life there last year on special— it literally melted in my mouth. Most of their menu can be made gluten free and they are very accommodating of that dietary need. Oh, and don’t sleep on their pizza! It’s entirely unique and incredible. The gluten free tastes and feels like the real thing.
The atmosphere is warm and bright, transporting you into a charming snapshot of Greek culture.
The cherry on top is that this is a genuine family business, generations working under the same roof. You can feel the love put into everything. And the genuine kindness and warmth of this family truly brightens my week every time I visit.
Dietary restrictions: They can do pizza, calamari, saganaki all gluten free!

My wife and I have been ordering from Spiros for 12 years and it has been amazing, until tonight. We ordered it through Skip and the tiropita was stale (smelled & tasted extremely gross), the village Greek salad tastes like the cucumbers were pickled and the veggies were soggy, the saganaki was pale and undercooked and the pita was hard and dry. We were honestly shocked and sad - the food has been so much better. I hope they fix whatever quality issues led to the meal we got tonight.

Spiro's is a family run business and they do an excellent job with the food and hospitality. Their pizza is fantastic and the rest of the menu has a nice variety of Greek dishes. I highly recommend the place and trust you will have an awesome dining experience.

Going by the Dave Portnoy scaling grade I would say that spiros cowboy pizza gets a 7.4
It's pretty damn good. And if you think the price is a bit expensive then stop voting for capitalistic greed and political parties who use xenophobia as political platforms. Just say'n

Okay, so way back in the day I remember Spiros first location, up on the corner of 14th Street and 34th Ave and the tables were formica and solid vinyl chairs with an open kitchen, and the food was spectacular.
Reset to now, more decades later than I want to think about, and it's a great stand-alone with a comfortable atmosphere and -- take a moment -- the food hasn't changed. Whether it's the pizza, or one of the entrees, the food is as wonderful as it was then, whether it's pickup/delivery or dine in, and the service is as personable and attentive as you could ever wish for --
Best pizza that I've had on two continents, and the rest compares as well.

EDIT: not sure why business would argue each review they have. And wait was at least 40 min with only 1 or 2 tables sitting down in the entire restaurant. I don’t have to be a in a rush to be served in timeless manner. Chicken plate whatever the name - the portion still couldn’t be smaller of the meat charging that much for it. Error on the bill you have not even mentioned - and you know it is how you charged. Anyone can be late in this weather and takeout orders were prioritized.
Waited 40 min for food.. in between that 20ish min for a drink ordered. On menu drink says 8$ they charged $10 on the bill.. didn’t even wanna argue. Food portion chicken in gyro plate smaller than OPA plate; and pizza has too much tomato sauce after you finish other toppings; overall OK plates but the wait and lack of service makes it not worth it - they prioritized like more than 5 takeout orders you watch come and go before you’ll get your plates.
