Amazing! Best sushi in Calgary, hands down. Highly recommend for any casual or formal occasions.
Very small parking sign and information about restaurant parking if you have never been there. We parked 15 minutes away and walked. Very slow service. We didn't get a server for 10 minutes. Drink didnt arrive for 15 minutes closed to 30 minute wait. Food didn't arrive close to an hour. Appetizer came after the main. Significant service delay for the price we paid. Prepare to spend approximately $150 for 2 people with no alcohol. We didnt have sushi. Sukiyaki and soorted vegetable temura, chicken karaage and dessert was very good.
Always an amazing experience - server/chef created a lunch menu for us which was outstanding. Service is always on point and very attentive. Love Sukiyaki House!!
Always perfection from food to service. And the limited time items on the Featured menu are always outstanding.
Sukiyaki House is an absolute gem in Calgary. The food was outstanding from start to finish—rich flavours, perfectly prepared, and incredibly satisfying. You can tell real care goes into every dish. The service was just as impressive. Attentive, friendly, and well-paced without ever feeling rushed. The team made the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable, which only elevated the meal. This was one of those dinners that reminds you why you love going out for great food. We'll absolutely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
Great Food. Go to dishes include Fried Hamachi Kama, Spicy Prawns, Tuna Tataki, whatever is the fresh sashimi and whatever Judith is making as a cocktail. You cannot go wrong
I had the premium tasting. The fish was so fresh. It was beyond excellent. As always, the service was second to none. Highly recommend.
Justin was excellent. The sashimi is fantastic and the Hot Pot on a cold night is amazing. Thanks Justin!

We had an amazing experience at Sukiyaki House. We ordered the chicken karaage, which was perfectly crispy and had a delicious sauce. The gyoza were packed with flavor, and the sauce added a great spicy kick. The spicy shrimp was incredible, somehow crispy and creamy at the same time. The yakitori had a wonderful smoky flavor that made it a standout.
The salmon belly pressed roll absolutely melted in my mouth. The sashimi and nigiri were incredibly fresh and had that same melt-in-your-mouth quality. For dessert, we had the sake crème brûlée and green tea ice cream, which were the perfect finishing touch to an already fantastic meal.
What stood out even more than the 10/10 food was the service. Our green tea was always topped up, the servers checked in regularly, and we genuinely received some of the best service we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Always terrific service! They treat everyone so well. The food is always good, never any complaints.
Not sure what some of the negatives reviews are about. Went here for dinner last night. Had a seat at the counter, venue was about half full. We had 3 appetizers and then sushi. The sushi was the star but the appetizers were pretty good as well, just came out a little different to what we anticipated. Had a mix of tuna, eel, Hamachi and rolls. All super fresh.
Came out a little on the expensive side but we ordered some expensive pieces of fish so to be expected.

The sushi was delectable, and the hotpot was equally satisfying. While the service was satisfactory and the ambiance was basic, reminiscent of a typical cafeteria, the furnishings could have incorporated a touch of authentic Japanese aesthetics to enhance the dining experience.
Service and atmosphere were great, it was really just that the sushi was very bland - we didn't realize we'd ordered two rolls with tempura fish inside and all we could really taste was the fried tempura, no fish and no other flavours from the sauce. The other rolls were ordered were also quite bland. Had the sake creme brule for dessert, it was good, and we both enjoyed the miso soup. But the sushi we ordered were all a miss for us just due to lack of flavor. We both love sushi and Japanese food, and are both inclined towards traditional Japanese flavors and serving styles for sushi, and just expected more given the other reviews of this restaurant and the photos of their menu.
