Sashimi and Nigiri are the go to here, the rolls themselves are quite unbalanced in terms of rice to content ratio, way too much rice for this price point.
Other good items are Tempura and the Beef Tataki.
Service was great with often and timely hot tea refills, atmosphere is lovely albeit climate control was set a bit cold for a crisp autumn evening.
If the sushi rolls were balanced better then we'd feel that price was appropriate, otherwise we would consider it incredibly expensive.

The service here is terrible. My order was ready, but they refused to give it to me, even though it was right there. The staff are extremely careless and slow, and they act completely unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for efficient or respectful service.
specially for courier drivers, they show absolutely no respect or value. The staff treats drivers poorly, making it clear they don’t appreciate the hard work we put in to deliver orders. Very disappointing experience.

We had gone to Sukiyaki House for my birthday and had read an old poster thinking it was an Omakase dinner night, however when the staff let us know that was from the previous year, they were incredible and still provided us with an Omakase dinner and gave us the best experience we could have asked for! We will definitely be back not only was the food fantastic (the best sushi I have ever had in central Alberta), but the team was amazing, it truly made my birthday special!

The quality of the raw fish is quite great for the price being in Calgary. It is a higher price point than your average sushi, but it’s worth it for the quality and taste. The dessert trio was a great way to try their different selections and we enjoyed it a lot.

Sukiyaki House is my favourite place in Calgary. The fish is always fresh, with rotating limited sashimi / nigiri depending on what they brought in most recently. The staff knows exactly what to recommend, and would even try to get us specific cuts of the fish to suit our taste. I live in Toronto but I am in Calgary at least twice a year and each time, Sukiyaki House is a must stop.
