We hosted my husbands 50th surprise bday, and the staff went above and beyond to make this bday a monumental moment.
I definitely recommend this beautiful place for your dinner reservation or hosting a private gathering.

The ambience it's nice well decorated. The Peruvian stir-fry I don't recommend I was a bit dessapointed. I didn't see the Papa a la huancaína with would go great with the stir fry
I am referring to the Chifa oriental The egg was aside and the rice was dry so I suggested to serve with Papa a la huancaína

We went to Sumaq on Thursday. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant. We loved the decorations. The food was great very tasty, fresh and the portion size is very good. Our waiter was Robinson he was very cordial and provided a very good service. We will return very soon.

The ceviche and beef hearts were both absolutely delicious! The beef hearts, in particular, were so flavorful and tender, easily one of the highlights. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes from the menu!

Wow this place!! We travelled from Toronto looking for the best Peruvian food to have lunch and we found it. (Ps… this is better than the Peruvian restaurants in Toronto) Sumaq, you are an absolute gem. We had a full experience from the moment we entered the door, greeted with kindness from staff. We ordered the Ceviche and the Pollo à la brasa and we were completely blown away by the flavour profiles, the presentation and everything!! We loved the food so much we’re probably going to go for dinner tonight again!! Haha thank you for everything!!

Beautiful restaurant with incredible food and great service! We loved everything we tried from the food to drinks to dessert. The pulpo de olivo and ceviche were my favourites, and you have to try the pisco sour. Finishing off the night with the picarones was the perfect way to end the evening! Will definitely be back

The atmosphere seems fun but the music is a bit too loud for a conversation. Service took too long, considering the restaurant was empty during dinner. The staff was clearly not in a rush, even though very friendly. The door did not convince me either unfortunately. Carne Empanada was overstated and a bit too flaky. The main dish beef was not medium (as I ordered), but medium well
And the final blow was the check - it is too expensive for the food and service received
Food is delicious but I miss sushi days!! Please bring them back.

An absolute must-go restaurant pick if you are in Calgary. I went there with my family looking for a nice play to eat dinner and oh man did we leave impressed! Good ceviches are hard to come by and Sumaq does a loyal service to the traditional peruvian ceviches. Other dishes like the tiradito, and desserts like the churros were absolute exquisite bangers. The servers were very kind to us (as fellow latinos) they served us a small shot glass on the house of a liqour I forget oops. 10/10 would go again. Maybe the music was a tad bit loud but for the quality of the food and service it did not bother me much.

I had the pleasure of dining at Sumaq, a Peruvian restaurant in Calgary, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The food was absolutely amazing — full of authentic flavor, beautifully presented, and made with care. Every dish brought a delicious taste of Peru right to our table. The service was equally outstanding: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I highly recommend Sumaq to anyone looking to enjoy exceptional Peruvian cuisine in a cozy and inviting setting. I’ll definitely be back!
