I was served half cold reheated roasted duck.
I went for roasted duck rice at about 7pm. I was told that at this time i can only order half a duck (30$) and a bowl of rice which I agreed eventhough I came alone. Saw a server put a plate of duck and a bowl of rice in the microwave and microwaved the food in front of me. The duck came out still cold. I informed the server, he said “ok” and brought back the food to the microwave, reheated it again. The duck came back after a minute, hot outside, still cold and tough inside. I saw the chef there and wonder why he let the server handled the food and served it cold. There was no service, nobody asked me if the food was ok. So I ate some of the half cold duck and packed the rest home to reheat.
I rather buy roasted duck from any asian grocery market. At least they would never give me sad cold duck.

I had the pork BBQ and the soy sauce chicken, and both dishes were outstanding. The pork BBQ was perfectly charred with a tender, smoky sweetness that showed real skill on the grill. The soy sauce chicken was incredibly flavorful, silky, savory, and beautifully seasoned. Every bite tasted thoughtfully prepared and full of depth.
Portions were generous, the food came out fresh, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Sun’s BBQ Restaurant is truly a standout spot. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone!

Came to try it after seeing reviews online. It's good to come for lunch when they still have all their Cantonese BBQ meat items. They also have lots of lunch special items that include a drink. We bought a box of BBQ pork and their sausage to take home to Edmonton. The BBQ pork is great, the sausage is ok, not our favorite. Overall great value and taste, our family liked it and would come again.

Hi Winnie, if you find this comment please go to your restaurant to try the “Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles with pork veggie wonton” in tea time menu.
Both the taste and appearance of the food are different from the actual Dandan Noodle and the photo in the menu. 👎🏼👎🏼
It is fine and I did not ask for any compensation with your manager when I paid because I knew they were not the ones designed the menu.
But please remind your manager NOT to tell customers that the pictures are for reference only when they are complaining and already upset. Disappointed customers don't need to be even more disappointed!
Finally, please amend the item name with “ in soup” like item 8 to 11 and amend item photo because the photo in menu is real Dandan noodles with 4 pieces wonton but the actual one is not.
“Wonton noodles in soup with minced meat from Dan Dan noodles” will be better.

It is terrible now. Dishes are tiny and much less meat compared to pretty much every other chinese restaurant in Calgary.
Service is abysmal. Servers literally drop and slide the dishes onto your table and walk away. Zero follow up during meals.
Waitress seems annoyed someone wants to actually order food.
They rather talk to each other than work.
The food its self has change alot. Much sweeter and everything seems to be cooked as fast as possible with out any regard for quality.
Normally this place is always busy. We were there 5:30 on a Saturday and it was half full. I think thats a sign.

I had a disappointing experience here. The food was nothing special, just average 。One of the staff members, a short-haired woman, was very rude in her attitude. Even though I still left a 15% tip, I honestly don’t think she deserved it.

Restaurantji Recommends
Just had some congee fried rice and veggies. Pretty good overall. I dont have a bar for chinese food in calgary yet but it was overall decent. Tea is one of the standard cheaper chinese restaurant teas. Drinkable but not the greatest.

7/9/2025 3pm I ordered from the afternoon menu and wait for 50 minutes but the food never came.
Paid 5$ for a coke that came with the combo.
No explanation, just a plain sorry.
For context, the restaurant has plenty of empty seats.
I always go here for takeout Chinese BBQ and this is the spot I always recommend to friends. The roast duck is marinated with a more intense five spice flavour than other places, as far as I can perceive, and the duck wings are a great snack as well. The butchers are always courteous to me and the line moves at a reasonable pace.
Dine-in is good too but can be a bit hectic. Parking can also be tricky depending on the time of day and day of the week.

Food is great with the price at weekday late night eat. Recommend to try it! Great options and lots of varieties for parties with diet restriction. Lots of parking but limited washroom….

Expecting a very SLOW service in take-out of BBQ products . CASHIER is RUDE and INEFFICIENT. It took more than 25 mins to get one lb of BBQ pork with one customer ahead of you. They never disappoint you in long takeout waiting. Zero star on service and won't go back.
