Ichiban was hands down the worst AYCE sushi experiences I’ve ever had.
We honestly should’ve left the moment we walked in — it was basically empty, with only one other table dining. Now we know why.
The beef tataki smelled like wet rags. We sent it back, and they brought out another plate(even though we said we don’t want another) claiming it was “freshly cut”… but the beef was literally sticking to the plate… and still smelled like wet rags. That is NOT fresh.
The wasabi mayo karaage looked nasty and tasted worse — gritty, dry, and overcooked.
We were honestly so stunned by how bad the food was that we forgot to take photos of the sashimi, but it tasted like everything had been soaked in water to make you full faster — there was no seafood flavor at all. The saba (mackerel) and sweet shrimp were especially awful: slimy, foul, and inedible.
Don’t even bother with the baked oysters — it looked like they just cut an oyster in half and threw it into a reused shell.
The deep-fried scallop was a complete joke — it was literally just fried dough with no signs of scallops at all.
Overall: gross food, questionable freshness, and a complete waste of money. Never coming back.
