Since the lease expires on July 31, 2022 and the owners retirement plan, Szechuan Restaurant was shut down permanently from August 1, 2022. Thank you my dear customers for your 16 years support. We will miss you.

A new friend had recommended Szechuan along with a word of caution: get it mild. " It" being whatever I ordered. I've hardly been a cautious woman, so I ordered a few dishes, one I decided would come at medium spice.Wow! Such complex flavour and so much HEAT- I had never experienced the two so fondly intertwined. I was grateful for my experience. It was like home food from a mom- we all know that's the best. The staff were kind and calm, they tended to me quickly.

As far as traditional chinese restaurants go in Calgary, Szechuan restaurant is probably one of the best of the bunch. Don't expect high end service and come for the taste. Szechuan restaurant has always been the go to traditional restaurant for us for the past few years, and while prices have shot up, the quality and taste still remain the same.
