We really wanted to enjoy our visit to this Mexican restaurant, especially because the food we heard was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service brought the whole experience down.
Our orders were taken on time, so we expected things to run smoothly. Instead, our food ended up being served almost an hour later—right after the last group of customers who arrived after us had already been served. When we made a follow-up, the staff who got our orders was acting as if she wasn’t aware that our orders were not out yet. What made it worse was that no one bothered to explain the delay or offer even a simple apology. It felt like our table was overlooked, and it left a poor impression.
We were also looking forward to trying their Carlota de Limón, but they were already out of stock by the time we made a follow-up. We ended up getting the tres leches—which we’re familiar with and did enjoy—but it was still disappointing coz we’ve been eyeing to try for that certain dessert.
It’s frustrating to give a negative review because the food itself was truly good, but customer service matters just as much. With better attentiveness and communication from the staff and with their kitchen, this place could be exceptional.

I dont typically eat Mexican in Canada... Just on vacation there cause it's typically better... But I'm a convert now. This place was awesome. Felt transported to Puerta Vallarta.

The place is very nice but the food in my opinion is only good for white people, if your Hispanic and wanting some good traditional food this is not the place

Love the food so much, but we always seem to get charged full price for tacos when we go on taco Tuesday for the deal. I'm kind of slow so I never realize until after we have left, but it's just a little disappointing.
Amazing tacos, had Birria and Al Pastor. Price and service were excellent. I'll be back with my friends!!!

Authentic, deliciously, cravenly Mexican food in a fun, intimate and unassuming setting.
Food: very tasty, authentic, homey, and fresh. I tried the lunch special trio, and it was a great decision. I enjoyed the variety of flavours, textures, and it all balanced one another out nicely. Beans and rice were seasoned nicely. I appreciated how generous they were with sauce.
Service: prompt and friendly. I ordered a horchata that never came, but also didn’t get charged for, and my husband never got his own glass of water. It was during peak lunch hour, and we weren’t too fussed about it. But obviously, that aspect could have been better.
Atmosphere: fun, causal, great authentic vibes. Outside of very unassuming, but it’s a pleasant surprise to see how much personality was inside.
Value: good value for the price, quality and quantity, especially the lunch menu.
Looking forward to coming back to try other items! Be prepared for a wait during peak times.
As a Mexican, if you were to ask me about the most authentic Mexican food in the city, I would say Tacos Mexico.. but not for the tacos. It’s their plates that bring me here every time! Their chiles rellenos, enchiladas, arracherra. Any of the dishes that are served with rice and beans just taste like home. It’s all fresh and flavourful and the staff is really nice.
That said, I just really don’t love their tacos. They feel so generic compared to how amazing their plates are. I tried al pastor (which I know is a hard one to recreate in Canada) and also the barbacoa ones but neither of them hit the spot like it does back home. The meat felt dry and nervy and the flavour for al pastor just wasn’t there. I will definitely keep coming back for the plates tho.
Great food, authenticity and you will keep bringing you back to this place
Make sure to be there at least 2 hours before the close, or until next time
