The foods are very tasty specially the Mutton curry with parata. If you need a real South Asian authentic food highly recommend this place. A young boy Warun’s service is exceptional. Waiting to go back

Today I visited to taste of Chennai, by the time restaurant was seems little busy with some catering orders I guess but still I got my dosa quick, and it was so tasty, sambar tastes yummy. I never tried filter coffee before . It’s totally different from other coffees . I love the aroma of the filter coffee

Got a veg puff for takeout. It was hot, fresh, and really tasty. The filling was nice and flavorful, and the pastry was flaky. Definitely worth ordering again!

I came here Calgary to join in my relations wedding functions from Vancouver.I was amazed by Taste of Chennai who prepared live dosa . Everyone from the functions are enjoyed garam garam dosa at live counter . Lot of varieties with idly wada, with 4 kinds of chutney. I enjoyed peanut chutney and nariyal chutney . Sambar was bhot badiya…

It’s changed a lot since I last visited, unfortunately for the worse. The food was undercooked, and I even bit into sand or stones a couple of times. When I mentioned it to the owner, he defended it by saying they were seeds. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This was a very pleasant surprise. My daughter in law and I were in the area visiting the orchid festival and, when lunch hour hit, we had no idea where to go. We stumbled on a Taste of Chennai when a neighboring restaurant we had found online was closed for lunch.
Although the atmosphere is rather plain and could use some decor, the locale was clean and in good condition.
But what really inspired me to write this review was the food. We shared a curry chicken dosa and a rice crepe filled with potatoes that came with lentil sauces and other garnishes. Both dishes were delicious and could have fed an army - we weren't even close to finishing it.
I'm definitely visiting them again to try other dishes!

We were welcomed into this quaint restaurant by a very kind waitress who, after asking her what she recommended, knew exactly what we should try. She opened the menu to the page and described the dish to us and we were sold! Both portions were sizeable and absolutely outstanding in flavour and texture. Not only was the service quick and polite, but we even met the chef - Varun! What a wonderful experience - would 100% recommend this food to all my friends and family!

Can't say I'm impressed. been to many many Indian restaurants this was not special at all. Ordered chicken Biryani and it was basically just a little bit of chicken and a huge bowl of rice. I had to order bread seperate. No lunch deals either dinner cost same as lunch. Also very very warm no circulation or AC and I got served warm tap water.
I will not be back .

Love their Biriyani, especially the jeerasamba biryani that they used to have on weekends. The porota and veg kuruma reminds me of home. Dosas are quite good too - highly recommend if you like Chettinadu food
