Was a bit of a let down given Model Milk is consistenly considered one of the best restaurants in Calgary. We ordered the burger and fried chicken. The burger was too dense and chewy, while the bun was sodden by the time the dish arrived at the table. The fried chicken was okay, although my first bite had a sizable chunk of cartilage, and the presentation was lacking.

Right from the moment we sat down we were greeted with by a wonderful young waitress who saw that our table was a bit unstable and proceeded to fix it. The food was amazing. It had been awhile since we had been back to Model Milk and we kept asking ourselves why? We stated with the Potato Loaf and it was to die for. Unbelievably tasty. What we liked in our dishes was that there were multiple layers of flavour. We were glad we ordered the bread as we saved some of it to clean up the wonderful sauces in the dishes. We had the Octopus and it was perfect. Tender, full of flavour. Wow. Unfortunately we were so full we could not make room for dessert - I wish we could have but next time. Congratulations to the Serving Staff and the Chefs - just an amazing experience. BTW we braved the snow and cold of the night - and said it was totally worth it. Thank you. Bruno

My husband and I were there on Saturday night, we sat at the bar the bar tender took great care of us, he suggested some really yummy food for us, great food l, great drinks, great conversation.

We haven't been in years but went back and the food and service is incredible! We played Shisito Roulette - only 1 hot pepper, devoured the Beef Tartar and savored the Rib Eye. Acacia our server was engaging and made excellent drink recommendations that really suited my palette. They sent us out a mini pot de creme to try since I was torn on dessert so I could have the Apple pie they are known for and an option I was interested in. It wont be years before we go back this time

Amazing service and food. Food is shareable with lots of great choices. We had steak, fried chicken, kale salad and fresh cut pasta. All were wonderful. Try the warm potato bun as a starter. It'll change your life.

Really amazing dining experience. Model milk provided a wonderful array for option - we highly recommend ordering for the table and sharing medium plates. The heat in the restaurant was intense (dress lightly).

Came to Model Milk on a recommendation from a friend who works there. Even without mentioning that was the reason we came, the service was absolutely wonderful (Thank you Patrick!). He gave us lots of well informed recommendations without being overbearing or pushy, and everything we ordered was a slam dunk thanks to him. The potato bun was our personal favourite but Manitoba walleye also blew me away. Definitely recommend dining at model milk but have your tall friends sit on the booth side of the table because the cushions are very soft and I felt like I needed a high chair before my boyfriend switched seats with me lol!

Very nice place, good ambiance. A little on the pricey side. Had a very nice time to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Would've been nice if they had recognized it though, as it was noted in my reservation.

Amazing and consistent food and service, going above and beyond... to the end that they are the first restaurant to greet with a "high five" which I have requested in all reservation comments since 2009. Great food, great atmosphere, great people.

The staff were great and efficient and the food was amazing. The only complaint we would have is that close to the bar the music was pretty loud. Not the best for conversation but the music was nice

Party of two, good service and waitress ensured water was refilled often, had the potato bun with garlic butter, calamari and 8 oz sirloin steaks. The potato bun was good and was good to pick-up the sauce from the calamari which was also good. As for the steaks, they were done to order but found them grissly and not the quality expected for the price. The steaks were topped with mushrooms which was nice but would have been better to have them on the side to keep the flavours separate from the meat to be able to taste the steaks on their own. Menu options for dinner entrees were limited. Overall a decent restuarant on the pricier end.

This restaurant was on my short list, and finally found the occasion to make it here. Everything was amazing. The potato bun loaf with compound butter; the 18oz ribeye was perfectly cooked and the roti and Brussel sprouts were perfect accompaniment and finishing it off with the apple pie. Totally Delicious! Will be back soon!

Loved the cocktails, great service and the food was lovely. We found the fried chicken a bit under seasoned but the steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak tartare and the calamari were great and the potato bread was a huge hit with everyone. All in all, a great experience.

It was just okay, all around. Nothing was amazing, nothing was “wow!” worthy. The restaurant booked three huge tables and our server mentioned when we sat down if we didn't order right away we'd be waiting all night for our food behind the large parties. Our server forgot our appetizer and brought it out after our mains already came out. The “famous” apple pie was cold and mushy. Nothing to write home about all in all.

We were driving from Edmonton for dinner and called as we knew we would be 10-20 min late for our reservation. The host was gracious and shared it would be no issue at all - so this gave us a great first impression, as often when calling restaurants they are quite short on the phone. We arrived and were seated promptly, and had amazing service all night from Kate - and when she learned we loved wine, she was great with recommendations and a small sample to pair with our steak. All of the food , from the potato buns, endive salad and carrots to the striploin with pomme puree was outstanding. We took Kate's recommendation for the apple pie with white cheddar crust for dessert - delicious! We will definitely be back!
