Thai Express Restaurant Calgary

I have ordered three times, the exact same item, each time is completely different. Stir fry with shrimp, and sweet and sour. Each time my veggies are completely different, sometimes they’re cooked and others like today they are raw. Today’s had no spice or sweet and sour sauce what so ever, just a brown sauce with no flavour but burnt and smothered in oil. Pineapple does not make a sweet and sour sauce, nor does tomatoes. I get veggies changing but when the main part of the dish is bland and oily it’s not worth it. Also maybe the person who is cooking should wash his hands before touching veggies and meats after coming back from outside the kitchen. The other person put gloves on, this one didn’t just dug into the veggies and threw them in bowls.

I'm a delivery driver. I say hello to the staff in every restaurant I go into, because I know that every person deserves a warm hello. I said hello to your staff too, and the response I got was five minutes. My advice is, if they don't like their job, they shouldn't do it. Or, they should be the kind of person who can say hello back when someone says hello to them.

I just made an order Via Skip the Dish and the food honestly tastes amazing and the manager really did go above and beyond today for myself and staff!

There’s this slighlt bigger cashier who always wear his airpods on and will yell at you because he CANNOT hear anything that you are saying. Well, you better not wear your airpods while working so you can hear everything better.

There really aren’t a ton of options in this area of the airport so at least this place has a few. It seemed like each meal was warmed up in the same frying pan so if you’re worried about cross contamination definitely don’t eat here. I ordered the veggie pad Thai with no egg. It was nothing special and at $15 quite expensive.

I was happy to find clearly labeled options in an airport. In all fairness, the food was not my favorite, but airports are still hard for vegans so you take what you can get!

Contrary to reviews did not see any clearly labeled vegan options. So had to ask about making vegetarian option vegan (a word I’m not sure was understood). In any case the food is more than adequate (especially for airport food). Only stopped here as long day of travelling and had to skip breakfast. If you are worried about cross contamination I would not eat here. Updated from previous review on 2022-05-25

You have to try their Tom Yum soup. I have only tried it with no added protein, but this soup is delish and very filling. The broth has great flavour and has just the right amount of spice. My favourite dish in Wyckham House!
