What happened?
The fish and chips used to be good.
Now.
Fries under cooked
Gravy is watered out and bland...
And the fish... well we have cod fish in our freezer from our trip to newfoundland and this tastes nothing like it.
$48... What a waste of money.
Again.. what happened ?? Is it under new management ?? . Times are tough ??
It's not hard to cook a French fry and cook fish in the deep fryer.
That's another placed crossed off the list for food when we're working late.

Good food, didn't expect to have to go up to the counter to pay our bill. Will likely visit again for the food.

After spending almost $90 for a dinner of 4 people I was utterly disappointed with the service and food. I recommend not using their online ordering and choosing a pick up time as they seem to just choose when they would like to make your food. When arriving at my designated pick up time they said it has been sitting on the counter for a while. They then shared as it has been sitting for a while to put it in the oven at 350 for 15mins. The whole idea of take out is so you can pick it up and eat it right away. We have been here a few times and there have been no issues but after this evenings events we will not be returning.

We got the haddock and chips. Good sized piece of fish but it was fairly dry. The chips are great and you are given a large portion. The mushy peas are very under seasoned. Overall the meal was good but expensive for what it was.

UPDATE: This is still one of our favorite fish and chip shops in town. The fish is always fresh and delicious. The chips have gotten slightly better over the years.
We started with the Okotoks location and were happy to discover a slightly closer location in Calgary. The food here is consistent with the food in Okotoks. Between the fishes, we found Haddock had the best flavor. Cod tends to be plain while Haddock has a natural salty flavor. The batter is fresh and not heavy in oil. It's definitely the best fish and chips in town. The chips are unique and are specially ordered from an organic farm. The reason I know this is because we visited Poplar Farm during Farm days, and they were telling us that they grow a specific potato for The British Chippy. It's definitely a wonderful small business worth supporting!! Only wished there was a location closer to us.
Kid-friendliness: Kids love fish and chips. Kids Menu available and the fish bites are a great deal

Delicious fresh fish, coleslaw. Peas lacking in flavour, but I douse them in malt vinegar. Batter is ok, light & not greasy. As daughter of Yorkshire fish & chip shop family In super-picky?. I keep coming back. Haven't tried the chips in an effort not to be the size of the store.

Just another F&C shop. Nothing extra ordinary about this place.

Worst fish and chips I've EVER tasted. Fish was thin and
Mushy, covered in a thin, slimy batter. Yuk.
Chips were ok, but nothing like real British chips.
Mushy peas have always been my favourite thing from a chippy, but these were watered down to a snot consistency and totally foul. I threw them away. I will never patronise this place again. Just expensive and horrible.

Great atmosphere visually and the food is perfect. Never had yummier gravy, not at all salty. Their deep fried fruit is delicious and not artificially sweetened. None of it is greasier than needed. The chips are cooked through, but not over-fried. The only thing that marred the atmosphere of a British chippy was the music. Weird funky American pop.
