Customer service from the staff was amazing. Despite being busy, they still took the time to check in on how was the food, fulfilled our requests and even had a nice conversation with one of the waitresses. I believe her name is Linda (I sincerely apologise if I got it wrong). Thank you Linda and her co-worker for the amazing service and the cooks in the kitchen for cooking up an amazing meal.

We had an uncomfortable experience during our visit to Captain’s Boil in Calgary.
A new Korean male server was being trained by a female trainer who continuously criticized him in front of customers. At one point, the food he was carrying was so hot that his hand turned red — it looked painful, and we were genuinely concerned. Despite this, the trainer continued to scold him, which delayed service and created a tense atmosphere.
Later, the male server accidentally dropped food on our table. He looked extremely flustered and distressed. The female trainer whispered something to him, and we expected she would take appropriate action — but instead, she disappeared into the kitchen and never returned to any customer-facing areas.
We didn’t eat the dropped food. We spoke to the manager, who apologized and said they would make it up to us next time. Unfortunately, it was our last day in Calgary, so we had to leave without any real resolution.
What disappointed us most was that, despite being told by the manager to apologize, the female trainer never came to us. We later heard from someone else that she had asked the manager to pass on the apology instead. Her choice to avoid taking responsibility and face the situation was very unprofessional.
The new male server seemed to be doing his best under difficult circumstances and was not at fault. Unfortunately, the overall handling by the trainer and management left a very negative impression on what was supposed to be our final enjoyable day in Calgary.

Great food, excellent service and just outside the core off of 16th and centre street making it super convenient to get to no matter where you're coming from in the city. 5 stars all across the board hands down.

The clams and mussels are delicious. If you go here, get the food very spicy and you will love it. This restaurant is on the expensive side, they play loud music (party/latin style vibes) and the ambiance is causal. If you're looking for value, fine dining, or a relaxed experience - you will hate this place. This place is probably an absolute blast if you're a drinker

Convenient location. Friendly staff. Large variety. Very good portion sizes. There are budget friendly options however... would recommend to plan for $100/person so you can get the Pirate Feast with an added appetizer! Motorcycle friendly parking out front.

YUM. This was my first time doing a seafood boil - and it did not disappoint. Our wait staffs suggestions were spot on - the Captins Boils sauce was SO good. We will definitely be back, it is SO worth the price.

I don’t write many reviews but this place hands down deserves it. If I could eat it daily I would but I will settle for it being my weekly pick. They always get it right no matter what day or time you order the food. I’ve never been to a place that has such Precise consistency when it comes to delivering such Packed full flavours. You can tell they get their food delivered daily. I’ve never had an order that tasted like the seafood wasn’t fresh.
On top of their amazing food their staff is hands the best. Always joyful and attentive whenever I pick up my orders, even with a busy house. They always smile and ask about my day and just their energy is incredible. You always leave feeling amazing and I’ve never had a bad experience here. Statistically with the amount of times I’ve been you would expect maybe one off experience, but it’s never happened - and I would doubt that it would happen. The owner is extremely kind and even knows my name. He really doesn’t have too but once again a great touch whenever I come in.
The price is also reasonable if you factor in the fact that we live far away from any body of sea that provides, shrimp, lobster and crabs. I could imagine the cost for shipping them is is a bit expensive. With that being said I believe the price is reasonable. I want to emphasize this review isn’t paid for but I just genuinely enjoy this place so much and I’m thankful to have discovered it and the people who work for it. I highly recommend.

Called to book reservation, the lady asked how many and told her 6 including a 3 month old baby. The staff informed us that there will be a gratuity service charge because we are 6. I emphasized that the other one is just a baby, staff responded that as long as it is a living thing it will be counted for service charge. I requested to speak to supervisor or manager and got the same response. What a crappy management and service. Basically if i will bring a 5 gold fish i will get gratuity charges.
