We had a fantastic time dining at the Casbah! The service was fast and the food was amazing. Our waiter was so friendly and ensured everything was perfect. We will be coming back with the whole family!

Went for my birthday dinner and had a really lovely time. My only complaint is that the dishes cost the same whether you get an animal protein or not. We went because we heard they are accommodating for vegan diets, and the food was tasty but each entrée is around $30+ and comes with a choice of protein. There was no vegan protein option, so we paid the same as people who get the same dish with a ton of meat on top. I’d love to see the dishes priced around $25 with the protein as an add on for $5-6. We just felt a little short changed in terms of our meal versus our friends’ meals who ordered the same dishes but got way more bang for their buck! Otherwise, the wine was delicious, atmosphere was AMAZING, and our server was wonderful and taught us a lot about Morocco!

This is by far the most unique looking restaurant in Calgary. The family who owns and runs the business is WONDERFUL. You can really see all the hard work they put into there small business. Food is amazing, and I would say I am quite a picky eater, so I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy everything I had. Will be going back multipleee times :) Keep up the awesome job!

So I was hesitant but intrigued at the same time, but just because I am a picky eater.
First I want to thank Rani for the explanation and experience.
Each of the four of us had different dishes and Rani help explain the dish to what we were feeling i.e. savory and heat, savory and sweet. The lamb was the best I can remember short of being somewhere like Turkey (this was so much better that in Turkey though)
The food was the best of our ten day experience in the Calgary area and would definitely go back, trying to work it in to tomorrow's dinner plan if time permits.
The fresh baked Moroccan Bread was amazing to soak up the leftover tajine. But alone the bread was awesome.
(The Wife) The Tangier Tajine (w/ lamb) was a beautiful blend of savory and heat, again the lamb......
(Me) The Couscous Khoudra (w/ lamb) opened me up to realize that couscous could actually be enjoyed and let me tell you I enjoyed it. Need I mention the lamb again?
(The Son) Fez Tajine (w/ lamb) was a wonderful blend of flavor just a little on the sweet side, but went well with the lamb.....
(The Girlfriend) The Rice Chermoula (w /sampler) was just as wonderful as the rest of the plates. (BTW The Son's Girlfriend, just so you don't think I am that crazy)
Overall this was a wonderful place to have dinner and truly, Rani just added to the entire experience so much. 5 out of 5 for the Food and 10 out of 10 for Rani. Thank you sir for your time and the experience!!!!

I stumbled into this restaurant by accident and it’s truly one of a kind. The photos and videos don’t do the atmosphere justice. It’s simply phenomenal. We ordered tea & appetizers for a simple chill meal and it was such a nice vibe. And the food? So freaking good! It took a minute because it’s made to order.

I’ve been to Morocco and the food and atmosphere were on par (if not better in certain areas). The mint tea lowkey changed my life. The owner not only provided a hospitable experience (similar to what I experienced in Morocco), he also was incredibly attentive to our table and came to us several times and chatted even though the place was slammed. His thoughts on the state world and our purpose were unique and I enjoyed chatting with him.

If you’re in Calgary this is a must visit.

Tremendous restaurant. The best atmosphere I have ever experienced. We will be making our house look like this. The food. Good lord. Flavours are blended together that I never would have imagined.

I truly walked out of The Casbah feeling like I went to Morocco, met a Djinn & then was teleported back to reality.

Best restaurant I have ever been to. 🧞‍♂️🧞‍♀️

Loved the experience! You can always tell when a person is passionate about their job and our server was an excellent example of such.

Not only was he willing to go above and beyond in helping us decide our dishes, but he encouraged our entire table into stepping out of our comfort zones and trying something new to everyone's delight. Also loved his colourful anecdotes about morrocan cuisine and Arab culture sprinkled in that helped enrich our experience, really making our simple get together, a true feast

The food was great as expected! I'm not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination, but the food was hearty and felt like a meal prepared with the love and attention of a mom or grandmother (big compliment)

Now-a-days, i find a lot of contemporary restaurants are decorated with minimalist fixtures and non-offensive shades of taupe. But Casbah instead greets you with an array of geometric spendor, subdued with low, intimate lighting. Akin to a kaleidoscope of stars and patterns peeking through the night sky

This is all to say i thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it was worth every cent :) will have to visit again!

Walking into Casbah feels like stepping into a hidden oasis. The atmosphere is rich, romantic, and immersive. This place is visually captivating, making it perfect for a special night out or a unique dining experience.

We ordered the chicken couscous chermoula, lamb couscous chermoula, prawns chermoula with bread, and lamb tajine. The bread was incredibly fresh and soft, and paired beautifully with the bold, savoury dishes. Be aware that the tajines and mains are quite salty, so definitely order couscous, rice, or extra bread to balance the flavours.

While the food was full of spices and character, our server seemed quite rushed and didn’t have much time to engage or offer guidance—even though we were already familiar with the cuisine. It would have been nice to have a bit more attention, especially in such a thoughtfully designed space.

If you’re not into sweet-and-savoury combinations, a common feature in Moroccan cooking, I recommend asking your server about the ingredients before ordering.

Despite the rushed service, Casbah’s ambience and food made it a memorable experience. Come for the decor and vibe, stay for the flavours

This restaurant is a favourite hidden gem in Calgary. I would love to keep it just for me but alas, I want them to stay in business forever so I just keep recommending people to visit! Casbah offers a unique atmosphere - it certainly feels like you're transported to another world - and the food is consistently fantastic. It's comfort food that always hits the spot. The only small issue we've had in the past is that the reservation notes on OpenTable are not always read beforehand (about celebrating an occasion or requesting a corner/private table) and they sometimes put you at a table right by the front door, even though others are available. But I consider that a minor issue, as the food and atmosphere are standouts. Love this restaurant!

Amazing restaurant!! For starters the decor is absolutely stunning. But even if it wasn't, the service and food is also impeccable. Can't wait to go back!
