Food is wack
Sorry to say and service was super slow
Im not picky at all and i dont wanna come across as rude
But i would never come back
Thinking we found a great little pub to have dinner and a few drinks before a concert soon disappeared.
First red flag was its Friday night and the place was empty. If you want somewhere to go to watch the bartender/waiter sit with his friends and ignore you.....then Dog and Duck is for you.
After ordering hot wings as an appy and tasting my cold brew I journeyed downstairs to the restroom, beyond dirty for the occupancy this night and left my shoes sticky.
Don't get me wrong I love pubs and dive bars that have good food and cheap drinks, unfortunately this was neither.
Wings had but 5 shakes of hot sauce and had a very odd smell and taste of expired frozen chicken. My wife refused to eat anymore than the 1 and a half she tried. I ate them as to not be rude hoping our steak sandwich main coarse would be better.
Being the only couple in the pub I thought getting another round wound be easy as the tender was sitting tables away but once again I was wong.
Dinner arrived and it was as I expected from this evenings experience. Steak was actually pretty good, but way to small for the 29 dollar steak sandwich special, brown wonderbread with garlic salt is not garlic bread.
Very disappointed in everything I thought this place would be. It has potential but needs alot changes to make it even decent for the price they are charging.
Makes sense why they are dead on a Friday night. I really do hope they can fix things here because it is a really nice pub in a good location that feels like home. Just to bad it completely sucks.
I would never recommend this place to even people I don't like. That's how bad it is.
Walking out after paying over $130
bucks for our evening made me sick to my stomach, could also have been the wings tho.
Wendys and a few cold brews at a park is a far better option than going here.
Also had we gotten service when we arrived we could have gotten the happy hour price for rotten chicken wings, and not the ridiculously over priced wings. ( every item on menu is overpriced )
I truly hope they read this and straiten shit out because it would be a shame to loose such a cool pub like this.

Checked this place out on a whim for lunch. Somewhere new. It’s pretty much what you would expect from a pub. The atmosphere reminded me of my Grandmothers house. It was really eclectic and fun. I could see this spot being a fun time on a Friday or Saturday night.
The food was good. The portions appeared to be a little small, but once we started eating it was the perfect amount. I couldn’t finish my fries.
The service was fine. The gentleman working was polite, and accommodating.
I gave 4 stars for the overall rating because my drinking glass was absolutely filthy. I didn’t ask for a new glass as I had read some other reviews where people had said the manager was rude. This was my mistake.. I should have asked regardless.

I like the atmosphere of this pub a lot. The food is not good. I will be back for a pint but not for dinner again. They say the veggie burger is a beyond meat patty but I was served a garden patty: I don’t like being misled on what I’m eating. My bun was super burnt, fries are scarce, and the cauliflower wings are very few for the cost.
Me and a friend went there for fish and chips. Waited 3 days to eat fish and chips and we're happy with how it turned out. It was deep fried perfectly not overcooked. It was super busy and they only had one server but other than that would definitely return again

This spot has an atmosphere like your being served by Karens...moody , snappy and to be honest is feels like they just want you gone so they can close.
They have great food...but it's Dull here and the only feeling you get of being appreciated is ONLY FROM THE PEOPLE YOU BRING.

What a wicked spot for a lil patio beer on a nice sunny day! Enjoy the charm of a home-like environment with none of the stress of some snooty upscale joint.

So fun! I love this place! What a hidden gem in Calgary! It's off the beaten path and really relaxing and quiet. The husband and wife who own the restaurant were so cute and nice. I really enjoyed it and the food was really delicious, home good comfort food.
Will definitely be back!

Three of us went for lunch today and the service, quality of food and cleanliness was awful. One of the pints of cider the glass had food remnants and was dirty. We ordered wings, dry ribs with soy garlic sauce and fries with gravy. All of the food was over cooked and flavorless. The dry ribs sauce was cold and congealed and in one clump. The wings were over cooked and so covered in salt & pepper that you could barely eat them. The fries were cold and twice fried it seemed and the gravy was flavorless. This pub could have good potential but the lack of care was shocking.

Stumbled across this while looking for somewhere to have lunch on Saturday. Truthfully it was the name that made us decide to try it out. The service was excellent, and the food was great. Highly recommend a stop by. Had the Shepard's Pie on recommendation and it did not disappoint

This is certainly an authentic looking English pub, lots of memorabilia from the UK, brought back lots of memories. However, the only positive thing I can say about this place is that the Guinness is pretty good. The food, service, atmosphere were all 1 star at best. I ordered the nachos and I can honestly say they were the worst nachos I have ever eaten. The chips were quite stale and the veggies were old and dry. There was a sparse sprinkling of cheese which was not even melted properly. I left 50% of them. The old couple that run the place look like they should throw in the towel, they had zero enthusiasm like they didn't want to be there. Seriously, this could be such a good pub if it was run properly. We won't be back.

We were looking for a place to stop to eat and rest with our dog. Since we had driven 5 hours, they treated us very well, the food was excellent and they offered us water for our dog. If you have a pet and want to enjoy eating something on the patio, this is the right place to go.
