The Garden Grille & Bar

We went in with the family for supper, staying at the hotel the night before leaving on our vacation so it was convenient. Our server seemed unsure of herself and most of the conversation was her repeatedly asking if we wanted more drinks (we had said no at least 4 times). We all had different meals, and all were bland and tasteless - the vegetables that came with my daughter's weren’t even fully cooked - they were left on her plate and when we told her that they were left there because they weren’t even edible there was no response, no apology, no offer to correct the issue… only asked two more times after that if we wanted more drinks. I received the bill to see we were also still charged in full for food that couldn’t be eaten. Overall awful experience.

Restaurant feels like it’s in the middle of the lobby of the hotel, server very pushy trying to get me to drink more even after I said no for the 6th time, food was bland, we ordered the beef dip which was just dripping grease and had no flavour (compares too cafeteria food), the bangers and mash, the only good thing about that meal was the smokies (the root vegetables were not cooked through and tasted like dirt), the wings were also quite greasy and had no flavour at all. They also served canned beer UNOPENED which is against AGLC regulation. Very disappointed and will not be eating here again.

UPDATE: Informed the server about the food and all we got was awe.. would you like desert? No offer to comp the bill nothing not even an apology.. I didn’t touch any of the root vegetables and she just cleared my plate instead of doing something about my food. I’m a server and I understand the industry so this meal was very disappointing all around.

Very nice hotel. The front desk staff were amazing, friendly and so helpful. Very comfortable rooms and beds were great. Transportation to and from airport. Very clean. Would highly recommend.

Our server Natalie was amazing! She was so friendly, and great with the menu in helping to make some gluten/dairy free options. I would go back to this restaurant just for her awesome attitude and great service. One of our dishes came out with a little less sauce than we like and she was quick to check in and able to get extra sauce in no time!

The servers are amazing. Efficient, warm, and friendly - and they make you feel right at home in their dining room. The chicken schnitzel on the dinner menu was absolutely amazing - I can't say enough good things about it. A beautiful huge crispy on the outside juicy on the inside chicken schnitzel with amazing sauce . Even the side vegetables were outstanding. If you get a chance try it! The eggs benedict for breakfast was also delicious - eggs cooked perfectly.

Ordered the Tuscan flat bread, absolutely the worse thing I have ever put in my mouth. Dry, tasteless, over cooked, and no flavor. Service was excellent quality was embarrassing.

This is our first choice when visiting Calgary. Service has always been great for us. The dining room serves great food at reasonable prices. Free parking. There's an indoor pool, gym and business room.The only issue we had on this visit was they never had a record of our booking because we used central booking which is handled by some other country. The front desk gave us their business card to deal directly in the future. Overall a nice place to stay.

Waiter cleared the table when l went to the bathroom without asking if we were finished, took our coffee/tea cup half full, plates empty tho, but didn't ask if he could take anything, just took it all ? I believe he was new to your restaurant, he seemed unsure of himself when taking our order, had to return several times about it, our RM. #, what kind of toast we wanted, how many eggs, brought vanilla creamer, not regular cream etc. But, in all , it worked out ok. !
