I REALLY enjoy The Lodge. As always I like to visit a couple of times before posting a review. First and foremost the room at The Lodge is brilliant. The ceilings and windows are large and high but the decide (a ski lodge feel) makes it feel cozy. One of my favourite things is that the room is spacious. The tables don't feel like they are on top of each other and the room doesn't feel too loud.
We were visiting, on this occasion, for my parents 60th anniversary so we had a large party. Our server was phenomenal and on the ball with checking in, keeping drinks filled and the large order organized. It was a Friday night and it was busy so things overall were a little bit slow. But it wasn't a big deal.
The foot was REALLY good. I felt like the portions were generous and well presented, especially my chicken sandwich. The sandwich was large and true truffle fries and garlic aioli were a great addition.
I really enjoy this place.

We absolutely love The Lodge. It is a complete escape from the city making you feel like you are in the mountains. The food is great and the staff are excellent. They even remember you and welcome you back. Thank you for the good times and we will continue to be regulars!!!

Food is pretty bad here which is a shame because it’s otherwise a really nice restaurant.
For appetizer I had the French onion soup - oddly thick, must have too much red wine and been reduced too far. More like a French onion stew.
For entree I had the rib dinner. Sauce was too acidic, ribs were low quality meat. Fries were soggy and coleslaw was flavourless. For $30 it was pretty disappointing.
They need a new chef badly.

We went for a family Christmas dinner with our grown kids. The vibe was fantastic, the food was excellent, and we had a lovely corner table where we could all chat and linger around the shared appies. We will go back for sure.
Improvement Needed
A group of us met there on Friday, December 12 for a casual reunion. Some of us ordered food. Three of us ordered the French Onion Soup and found it to be awful. It was thick like a gravy and seemed to have something like Bisto added to it. Very disappointing. I also ordered a regular caesar. Again, very disappointing. It was definitely missing something. The worse offense of all was the AUDACITY that this restaurant had in adding a 18% gratuity onto the bill. First off, tips are for good service. Since when do you self access whether or not this occurred? Secondly, who said we tip 18%??? Who made that decision.? Thirdly, why weren't we informed of this practice BEFORE we ordered. I won't be back!

We here been here a few times before and the service and food had been excellent however on our most recent visit the food quality has definitely slipped. The atmosphere in The Lodge is excellent and the staff are extremely pleasant, friendly and accommodating. At this visit I order the Ribs and they were very bland, chewy and not enjoyable at all. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and described it as lacking flavour and dry. The atmosphere earns a 4*, the service and staff a 5* but the food was a big disappointing 1*.
