A large group of us came here on the weekend for dinner and we were directed to a private table which was a nice. The decor of the restaurant and the private room itself was very nice but that's about the end of the good points at the Oak Room. The negatives far outweighed the positive. Our server was very curt and borderline rude, our food took forever to arrive and when it did many of us complained that our meal was lukewarm at best. Numerous dishes were taken away to be reheated. The pasta I ordered looked anything but fresh and had the distinct appearance of being reheated in a microwave as soon as it arrived. Quite a few people in our party didn't eat their meal because it wasn't tasty at all. It was an unbelievably poor experience considering it's the Palliser and we had high expectations. Considering how exorbitantly high the prices are for drinks and a meal, it really wasn't worth it one bit. Will not be coming here again.
I am not sure why the Oak Room has such low reviews?!? I stay at the hotel all the time and enjoy going downstairs for great service, food and atmosphere. Every experience I have had there has been pleasurable and their cocktails are delicious. Make sure to stop by for a quick drink or bite to eat when you stay at the hotel or when you are in the area. You will not regret it!
The food itself was really good but the service was very slow. We ordered and it was almost an hour before the food came out. We will go back because it was delicious and maybe it was just a busy time of day to be there. The service was friendly and wonderful and the atmosphere was great too so there's not much to complain about other than needing more time than we anticipated.
The brunch was very impressive. Super Friendly Services!
Impressive space. When there is live music it's even better. Obviously, it's not cheap but the excellent, professional and friendly staff as well as the atmosphere make up for it.
Love the service here, the food is pretty good. A bit on the expensive side but that is to be expected for an establishment such as this one. Amazing cocktails - their moscow mule and mojitos are something you must try.
Good food. Slow service.
Overpriced, extremely slow service. Mandatory gratuity for larger groups
Go for a quick bite or drink; pleasant enough setting with professional and friendly service.

I had brunch with my wife and sister today at the RimRock restaurant in the @Fairmont_PAL Hotel in downtown Calgary. The cook making our omelettes dropped his spatula on the floor, then continued using it. We couldn't believe this happened in such a refined, grand old hotel! :-(
Good Christmas dinner
Curt, inattentive service, stale bread and a far-overcooked steak that was very long in the making resulted in a low-calorie, frustrating, 2-hour experience. Despite the prestigious reputation, there's way better in Calgary.
Order all the mashed potatoes, ALL OF THEM
Probably the worst brunch ever... and $50 nonetheless! Unfriendly staff, frozen prawns, basics not covered, a bad experience overall. Try a local diner, go somewhere else, AVOID BRUNCH HERE!
