The Ship & Anchor is a bustling restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The 1-piece fish & chips and Pepperoni pizza are highly recommended. The service is exceptional. The prices are reasonable and there are options for different dietary restrictions, such as the felafel and gluten-free chicken fingers. The Birria Beef Dip comes highly praised. The happy hour is long, cheap and awesome! Lots of menu items are gluten free and dairy free, and the menu is clearly marked. The fish and chips, calamari, and tuna pole bowl were top notch. This place has good vibes, solid food, and the staff is always chill. It is a welcoming and casual atmosphere, with great food and drink, staff that clearly love their job, and a clientele that love this place too. It is a Calgary legend, especially if you love punk rock, divey bars that are clean, and a solid community presence.
