Second of all, lots of their menu items are gluten free and dairy free. Plus their menu is clearly marked.
Special mention…the fish and chips, the calamari and the tuna pole bowl were top notch. Highly recommend.
Worth knowing…..smoking happens within distance of the patio. Not great if you want to avoid smoke smell.
Also worth knowing that the 17th Ave strip has lots of noise pollution from vehicles who love to rev up their engines to be cool. It’s really annoying and wrecks the atmosphere of the many great patios on the strip.

One of my go-to spots in Calgary. Good vibes, solid food, and the staff is always chill. Great place to hang out with friends or just grab a drink and relax. Never had a bad time here.

Service was meh, waitress kept abandoning us for extended amounts of time. Food was meh as well, the baked Mac and cheese was closer to a soup. Was also served a clear old fashioned that didn’t taste right at all.

My favourite bar in Calgary- a welcoming and casual atmosphere, with great food and drink, staff that clearly love their job, and a clientele that love this place too. The Ship and Anchor is a Calgary legend, especially if you love punk rock, divey bars that are clean, and a solid community presence. I love to visit for Punk Rock Bingo night, but also just to enjoy the patio when the weather is nice. It’s always my first thought of where to go when we’re going out.

Service is great. Food below average. The place looks dated and has a weird smell. They serve their patrons even if they’re clearly intoxicated so of course it’s a bit shady and unsafe place for women. Second time here and won’t be back
