Been here a couple of times to see one of our fav bands.. 1st time(Mar 2025) was ok, food & service was acceptable. 2nd time (Dec 2025) totally different experience, ONLY positive is the great same band that was playing that night!!! The food was terrible, not hot, service was ok, not that great. (The staff seem more interested in socializing with one another than providing service to patrons)The place is TOTALLY falling apart a TOTAL dive and in need of a MAJOR renovation (yellow putrid water leaking from the ceiling in the ladies washroom making the floor slippery) & NO hot water. Overcrowding!!!! Also a HUGE safety hazard as they let as many people in as possible with zero regards for fire code regulations. You have to shove your way to try get anywhere whether washroom or TRY to FIND your server to pay your bill or try to exit!!! Good luck if there is ever a 🔥 (will be a repeat of Switzerland bar🔥) The place should be closed💯 for health& safety violations!! Very lousy set up for band/dance floor, will NOT be returning!!! DON'T recommend!! Go elsewhere for Great food, service & entertainment value!!!!!

This calgary staple never disappoints. Been a favourite for years but always finds a way to over exceed expectations. The food? To die for. The service? Unmatched in the city. Redefining what good service means in Calgary. Every time you visit this public house it feels like home. Paige is salt of the earth and will leave you saying “we need to go back asap!” Jo also does an impeccable job running a tight ship. If you havent checked out the Trop, then you are checked out!

I went there on a Monday. So there was no bands that day, just sports. The crowd was older and pretty quite. I had the Trop burger it was kinda tasteless and the fries were thin and greasy. So they were good when they got cold. Which was pretty quick. The house lager was pretty good. The price was fair.

The food was great, but small. The atmosphere is awesome and the service was even better. It accommodated my disabled brother and his power chair. I will definitely come again.

We were excited to try the Trop for their 14$ two topping pizza deal and we’re happy with the beer options on tap. We left very disappointed. Beer was warm, patio was filthy and the pizza was covered in burnt flour. We were hoping to just pop in quickly but ended up being there for 2 hours. Seeing as this is a dog friendly patio, we saw chopsticks, skewers, broken glass and napkins all over the ground. Tables were dirty and unkept and service took forever. I do not blame the server, she was lovely but it was clear that she was new and they were majorly understaffed. Very unfair to put an employee in that position.
