Matcha is an acquired taste right? After eating here, i can confidently say I still havent acquired it. The place is nice though, and the chairs are surprisingly sturdy 😄

I missed the Tsuhiri before covid, the macha shaved ice was like 1.3x bigger, now it is just smaller and 1.3x more expensive.

P.S. i heard macha is going to get more expensive due to climate change, so enjoy it while you still can at this price.

I love matcha. I used to eat a lot of match ice cream and other matcha products until 10 years ago when I became not only lactose intolerant but I also had developed a general intolerance to dairy. After experimenting I discovered I also experienced an immune response to soy milk, due to additives or the processing.

Today, my friend offered to bring me a matcha from this store today. I was so excited because they had milk alternatives listed on their website.

But when she asked for milk alternatives, the only options they had were Regular Milk, Lactose free and Soy.

As I am unable to ingest any of these options due to allergies/intolerance, and many people have issues with Soy (it isn't very inclusive as an alternative), my friend suggested maybe they could expand or opt for a more universal alternative to Soy like coconut.

The staff literally laughed in her face at the suggestion, and the staff smirked at each other and basically mocked her.

Ultimately, I don't care that you don't have inclusive alternatives.

What is a problem: It is behaviour like this that makes in hard for people who have allergies and health issues to participate in society. It contributes to their isolation, stigmatization, and othering.

By mistreating our friends and family, not only are you not being open minded and losing business, but you negatively impact our relationships with people in our lives and further harm done to people with health issues. When staff at restaurants behave this way, they undermine the legitimacy of our health issues and the diets we need to maintain our health. It makes it less likely the people in our lives will want to advocate for us, or go out for dinner with us.

It took me over 10 years to get my family to provide options for me at group events due to similar attitudes and biases. I will be avoiding this location of this franchise as this behaviour is ableist and demonstrates an intolerance of differences. The management need to do better.

Quite simply... The BEST matcha in the City.

The drinks, desserts, baked goods are all high quality and tastes like matcha you can get in Japan. Doesn't get better than this.

Scary good. Best match ever. Tried every Amazon one. They all suck. Same with costco. No chalkyness no bitterness. Beautiful and smooth. Picky girlfriend approved too

10 stars! 🌟
I visited Tsujiri on August 16 and accidentally lost a very important Fujifilm battery without realizing it until August 27. When I contacted the shop, the owner kindly helped me connect with the staff, and to my surprise, they had kept it safe for me. I’m truly grateful for their thoughtful and reliable service.

I also really enjoy the drinks here, especially the matcha — exactly my favorite taste. The cozy atmosphere makes me feel like I’m having coffee back home in Vietnam.
Thank you so much, and I’ll definitely be back!

Tsujiri parfait, the beans at the bottom were a little different than our usual taste and made it feel too dry. Overall the matcha flavour was a wonderful combination. Will return for a drink and cake next time instead. Parking may not be as easy to find so plan ahead!

Matcha was tasty, just enough sweetness in the mango latte! Matcha icecream cream was rich and flavourful. Blended yuzu drink was also refreshing!!

BEST matcha in Calgary by far!! We ordered the regular matcha latte, maple, and kinako… all were so delicious. I want to come back and try their parfaits! Sadly they don’t sell their matcha in store:(
