I've been meaning to come here since it opened, as I use to love Tsujiri when I lived in Toronto, but it was a little bit of a disappointment.
I've always been a huge fan of their houjicha ice blended in Toronto and I was really looking forward to trying their matcha drinks, but they were a major letdown. The matcha tasted weak and watered down, with none of the rich, earthy flavor you expect from a good-quality blend. Instead of being smooth and creamy, the texture was gritty, as if the powder hadn’t been mixed properly, and a lack thereof.
If you're a matcha lover looking for a satisfying, authentic ice blended drink (which to be honest isn't my favourite form for matcha to be in anyways), this probably isn’t the place for you. I left disappointed and wouldn’t order their matcha ice blended again. I will definitely be down to try their matcha lattes of sorts though, I hope that the preparation of their lattes is better. I do think that ice blended matcha does not always come out well. I look forward to visiting again and hopefully changing my review very soon!
