I've tried to eat here at least 10 times and I've literally never been able to because they're never open. I'm sorry but come up with an actual hours of operations and adhere to it. If you're having private events or closed for whatever reason (maintenance, staff events, etc...) post it on your socials? I'm so sick of going out of my way to try this place and showing up to it being closed yet again (within hours of their posted opening time, mind you) that I've given up. It might be good, who knows. If you're not going on Friday, Saturday or during one of the events advertised on their IG, there's a good chance they're just not going to be open.

This place is never open when it's supposed to be.

I've tried 4 times now and it's always closed.

The most bizarre experience. Thrown out on our tails!

Six of us went in for drinks on Wednesday and were warmly welcomed. Stayed for a couple of hours, our 12 and 17 year olds played on the arcade game and we chatted to the staff. Had a great evening and were really well looked after. We noticed the advert for NFL and asked if they were showing the game the following day and they confirmed they were. We told them we’d be back in to watch it, thanked them and tipped generously before leaving (photo below to prove we were there).

We returned the following day (Thursday) at the same time (5.30pm) and found a table. We were initially acknowledged by a member of staff and we sat down before been handed menus and advised they’d take our drinks order at the table. Having sat down and taken our coats off and got comfortable, the same member of staff returned, collected the menus off the table and told us to leave as they did not allow children in the bar. I politely advised them that we’d been exactly the same time the night before and was told that the owner was in and had said that we could not have children in the bar due to his licence.

The worst and most unfriendly, inconsistent treatment that we have experienced in our trip to Canada from the UK. We were literally turfed out having just sat down in front of the rest of the bar.

I absolutely have no problem with bars which don’t allow children, but the treatment above was shocking and done with absolutely no compassion, apology or understanding.

In a service led industry, this place should be struck off the map.

I’ve tried to come here four times and each time it has been closed for a private function. Will not be trying to go for a fifth time.

Tubby’s Bar is a Beltline staple. It’s a home away from home. The food is bangin’ and the staff are lovely. I love this place. Tubby Dog is no more! TUBBY’S Bar is dope AF!

Visited from London for a few weeks on a work trip and wish we’d spent more time in this bar. Excellent beers, intimate vibe. Loved it.

It's worth a look if you're nostalgic for the old Tubby Dog (a few favorites from which, like the Sumo Dog and the A-Bomb, are still repped here). And I like that it's a more focused and stripped-down concept than Tubby Dog was. The service is good, the vibes are good, it's a pleasant dining experience. Still: ultimately, I don't understand why they've ditched half of the old menu and nearly tripled the prices while actually shrinking the hot dogs. It's a bizarre approach given that the hot dogs are (and this is still the case) the central attraction here. Nostalgia aside, this makes it pretty hard to wholeheartedly recommend as anything other than an expensive novelty.

Sunday school long weekend edition with DJ Rice! Leave it to Rice to bring together friends I have not seen in ages. So many familiar faces from the night gallery days and finally getting a chance to know them. Bartender Charlie is a good man. I have not been to Tubby since their days on 17th Ave. Love the spot! Cozy...need to come out more!

Wth did you guys do to the menu? Doesn't even have half what tubby dogs had. I guess its just for social media addicts now.
