Uncle Ben Chinese Restaurant

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Uncle Ben! Three out of four of us were Celiacs. There were so many options for us! We had chicken wings, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, ginger beef, chop suey, lemon chicken soo gai, jumbo pineapple prawns and chicken fried rice. Most importantly, we didn’t get sick from cross-contamination! We will definitely be back!

Dietary restrictions: It’s nice to finally go to a Chinese restaurant with many gluten free options! Food was delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive even tho they were busy with take out and dining customers. Our new favorite place for Chinese.

Uncle Ben's was an exceptional experience. Rather large portions but delicious, authentic cuisine with friendly staff. Will be returning in the future.

I ordered 3 dishes from here, and as other reviews have pointed out, the portions are huge. Unfortunately its definitely quantity over quality.

The chicken fried rice was ok, however the chicken curry is awful. There was no curry taste at all, infact the entire diah had an odd flavour to it.

This restaurant is also more expensive than any of its competitors. The curry was $20.

I think hands down the best Chinese food in Calgary. When I work in the area I try to always get a meal from here. I think once I'm done work today I'm gonna grab something.

Absolutely delicious???. I’ve been searching for a good Chinese place since we moved here. Lots of searching and reading reviews.

Don’t let the name of the restaurant fool you.

We ordered pork fried rice(no mixed veg, extra green onions), dry garlic ribs(boneless), sweet and sour pork, and fried pork belly.

Food and service was absolutely amazing, staff are kind and make sure everything is good and food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, if your looking for a good quality Chinese food restaurant this is the one.

Too expensive! The Wonton soup sucks and absolutely did not satisfy my craving, and is $9 for what I’d expect to pay 5 or 6 dollars for 3 cups of soup. My meal for two with added soup was around $60. Insane.

Although large quantities it doesn't matter as there is no flavour. Tried this restaurant twice, for me quality over quantity is the most important.
Lemon chicken had a very funky taste and smell, did not enjoy their chicken balls, flavourless chicken, sweet n sour pork flavourless
Don't care about the large portions as any dish we tried was extremely lacking
Very nice people but won't eat from here again.
Will stick with Hong Kong Garden.

Order was ready 15min after placed! Was hot and fresh! We were pleasantly surprised to find orders portions and how it was packed with care. Will be back for sure. Ps: Ate it too quickly to get pictures, will have to get them next time!
