Cute cafe with yummy drinks. The food looked delicious, but we didn't have any this time.There is no seating in the café. It would be great if they had a chair or two for elderly or easilu fatigued people to sit on while they wait for their items to be prepared.

I love the food here, and used to come at least once every 2 weeks, if not weekly. Their prices have always been on the higher end, but lately are high high. 20$ for a salad or just a sandwich is steep.The quality of the food is good so I definitely am happy to buy from time to time, but find due to price increases I definitely don't stop in near as much anymore.If you don't mind spending the money this place always has delicious food, I just think for lunch it's too expensive considering it's take out only too.

Beautiful cafe,Ordered a Iced Chai Latte, nothing special comparing to other chai lattes (same ingredients) but delicious nonetheless.Tried the Applewood Smoked wingsI give it a 7.9/10 but for the money 12’99 for 12 wings and 1 dip is respectable!Amazing service ensured I was cared for and asked if I wanted the wings heated and also gave me instructions if I were to heat them later since i was taking them home.Honestly beautiful vibe??

Fabulous sandwich! I wasn't even that hungry (ok, a little) and this shop/bistro/café is a great find. Definitely a destination. Locals are very fortunate.
This is a little Cafe that I discovered during YYC Hot Chocolate Fest. It's Delicious. It has vegan and omnivore options and a little "store boutique" of other local sellers on shelves around for you to look at while they make your coffee.They have a really good local following too. Truly an amazing hidden gem.

We just found this local hidden jem! We moved in the Mount pleasant community last year and I am so happy I found this little café at a walkable distance. Don’t be fooled by the dated look of the place & branding ( and their social media) , the food is absolutely delicious and there’s vegetarian and healthy options on the menu. Decadent sandwiches and beautiful salads, daily specials, amazing pickled vegetables and frozen meals to go. There’s a little boutique section, a patio to sit outside in the summer and everything is local. They are serving Fratello coffee and selling the beans. We ordered several items and were very pleased with everything. The maple pork belly sandwich, the lemon blueberry muffin, the coffee, the chickpea salad and the pickled carrots/cucumbers were so tasty but my favorite was the daily special: Lion’s mane mushroom penne with smoked pecans. So creative and absolutely delicious. It reminded me of going on a walk in the forest, every bite was different but each and every single mouthful was delightful. Earthy, smoky, creamy, nutty, savory.. I am very impressed with the chef and was pleasantly surprised by that level of gastronomy from a little understated corner café. I will make this new found local treasure a regular spot for my family and I. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing.Note that they do not offer interior seating, only take out & exterior patio.

We live in the area and have always enjoyed the coffee, occasional treat and occasional meal. Recently we reached out for a catered meal which they nailed. The turkey, veggies, stuffing, and potatoes were delicious, as was the gravy and cranberry sauce. We will order again.

Always wanted to check out this cafe as I keep passing by it and I’m glad I did bright and early today! Lovely friendly staff, food is DELICIOUS wow (got the blueberry muffin and pork belly breakfast sandwich) ? and the chai tea is spot on. All around great vibes!

How have I not left a review here yet? Velvet Cafe is so much more than a cafe, they have some of the best food in the city. Every day there is a new special and soup, and the staple sandwiches and salads are all great. I don’t think I would have survived the pandemic without them feeding me weekly. I got a charcuterie board from them for New Year’s Eve and it was fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about Velvet Cafe. Best vegan food too on Thursday (I’m not even vegan but that noodle salad is to die for).
