Viet Hai is our favourite place to go, it’s a great place for both full and quick meals, they’re service is quick and have a nice staff. Our waitress, Sue, had lovely energy, and was very kind!

Do not order take out from here. The portions are tiny. Vietnamese food is starting to become over priced all over the city but this place takes the cake on horrible VFM

Very nice place. The service was great, all of the waiters and waitresses were very kind, friendly, and helpful. You get seated almost instantly, and the food comes out in less than fifteen minutes.

Ordered from Uber eats. I pretty much paid $20 for noodles. The portion was so terrible. Barley any meat. Never ordering from this cheap place again. I'm very unhappy.

I was directly asked to leave a 5-star review, it’s only fair to share my honest experience but I cannot give 5 stars based on my experience.

The young staff overall seem polite, but I personally was asked to leave a 5-star review, and I also overheard staff asking other tables to do the same. This made all these reviews below feel pressured rather than genuine.

There was also a noticeable issue with customer service. One member, who appeared to be in a supervisory or managerial role and was on the floor wearing a white T-shirt, gave an uncomfortable impression most times I come here. His attitude did not feel welcoming, and the overall atmosphere felt tense.

The most disappointing part was the food handling. I clearly requested no cilantro, as it strongly affects the flavor of the soup for me. Despite this, the dish arrived with cilantro. When I pointed it out, the bowl was taken back to kitchen and cilantro was simply picked out and returned to my table. Unfortunately, the taste was still there and pieces were still visible and I could not finish.

I genuinely hope the restaurant focuses more on respecting customer requests and improving service rather than asking for 5-star ratings. Honest reviews will come naturally when that happens.

Our friends and neighbours at Viet Hai are the best! Sue, Anthony and John are always welcoming with a smile and provide amazing service every time! Food is always delicious and the #58 is one of the best soups I've had in Calgary!

The lovely lady Sue helped me out today, and she was just amazing. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated her 🤩🤩. Sue’s service and attitude was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
