Wellingtons of Calgary

The waiter inquired as to the reason for our visit. Dinner was for a special birthday. Service was excellent but no offer for extras (cake w/candle. sing Happy Birthday, or other special greetings were forthcoming) We did not feel we were appreciated any more than any one else eating at the restaurant that evening. .

Very accommodating and the ability to customize your order! I have tried every item on the menu and can confidently say you can't go wrong with any of them. Of course my normal go to would be the 20oz prime rib peppercorn crusted and blackened served with a side of hot sauce, or a 20oz filet mignon that always seem to done perfectly!

Our family went to Wellingtons for my 65th birthday celebration. The food was outstanding! I had the Wellington 10/10, both of my adult children had the prime rib. They both said it was delicious. The table side Caesar salad was excellent, VERY garlicky! Our server was literally run off her feet, which made service slow. Definitely not her fault, but did make for a long intermission between courses. 10/10

We have dined here frequently. This was the worse meal ever very disappointing the service was good ola was very good the scallops were overcooked the veal was not tender will think twice on returning. My wife ordered the steak & lobster the lobster was hardly edible sent back

Table side Caesar salads are always great. Every server has a different take and quite enjoyable. The steaks were perfection and the service exceptional. We always have a great experience.

We have been to this restaurant multiple times and the experience has been positive every time. Highly recommend for romantic date nights. Some menu items are in the higher price point, but there are some nice, more affordable options as well. We hope to continue to visit this restaurant for years to come.

Great atmosphere, kind waiter but the extra staff wandering around were not helping. Took long time to clear the table and had to ask. The younger staff should be more attentive and assist the waiter with ensuring a positive experience.

Service was excellent and very attentive. Liver and onions very good, but would have preferred mashed potatoes (they don’t offer them). Food was hot. Pepper steak was very tasty. French onion soup from a previous visit was “thin” and not very warm. I’ve had better. Sticky toffee desert was excellent!!

Service was wonderful. My prime rib was great! Two others had steaks and found them tough. Not what I would have expected from Wellingtons. A bit disappointed.

Well, I’m awfully sad. I never thought I’d have to leave a bad review for our beloved Wellington’s. That has been a Family favourite for the last 30 years…
We were in the lounge last Saturday for dinner. The food has definitely gone somewhat downhill and it seems like they’re using cheaper ingredients. My husband’s pepper steak was full of fat and grizzle! He’s spat half of it out on the plate. The waitress asked if there was something wrong with the steak, obviously yes. She did ask him if he wanted something else, by that point I think he was over it and a little turned off. I had the fillet of sole The fish was nice, but the vegetables that were served with it were reheated and tasted awful! So I basically paid almost $50 for two pieces of fish… The waitress was OK, really miss the old staff. She snapped at my mother because my mom took our menus and put them on the empty table beside us. The waitress then said “oh these can’t be here. What if somebody needs to sit down…” Well, you know what just remove them you don’t have to give my mom shit for putting them there! I thought that was rude… Also, where is the manager????
back in the day if you had a bad meal, the manager would come over and apologize for the terrible $58 Pepper steak that Was not edible! And the olden days, the manager there would’ve promo this meal and taken it off the bill!!!! Instead, the waitress said oh I told the manager and he said you can have a piece of cheesecake for free… I’m really disappointed in Wellingtons and I hope this doesn’t become a regular occurrence with them!! We were also there in May for my mom’s 80th birthday but in the restaurant side and it was very good… Hopefully this is a one off bad night

Classic, timeless steakhouse vibe. But without being dated or run down. Very clean and classy. The steaks are incredible, as is the namesake Beef Wellington. The service was top notch.

If you're looking for the old-school, up scale steakhouse experience, you have to do Wellington's!
