I've been going to Wok With Dave for several years, although I will admit I've had a long break over the past few years. The order was prepared quickly and was on time for pick up (although I did only order Hot & Sour Soup). I ordered Hot & Sour Soup and it was very subpar. There are hardly any ingredients in it. It should have Chinese mushrooms, bamboo shoots, lily root (although I've yet to find this in Calgary), and black fungus as well as bean curd (tofu). This order had what I think is tiny pieces of chicken, carrot strips and tofu, some tiny things that I think are bamboo shoots (but not many), nothing else that I could note. Food was very disappointing. I guess I'm on the hunt for a proper Hot & Sour Soup provider in Calgary again. Sigh.

I order some food from this take out only place in my quest for a good Hot and Sour soup. Ever since the Spicy Hut shut down I have been on a quest to find something close to comparable to their food. We ordered Hot and Sour soup and Chicken & Veggies in curry sauce and Chicken Fried Rice.I would not recommend any of these dishes. The extra star was because the portions were good. The Hot and Sour soup was OK but it really lacked a richness of flavours plus no fungus or mushrooms in the soup. The heat seemed to come from the equivalent of frank's hot sauce poured in, not much too it.The Chicken in curry sauce -yuk it was battered and deep friend then put in the curry sauce so it was a mungy coating, why not just stir fry chick straight up, then it would have been just boring.The chicken fried rice, well in a word, uninteresting frozen corn in it, none of the usual other things kind of mushy too.
Dietary restrictions: Well I will have to wait a day and see if it had no MSG. Will update if it did.

Placed a large take-out order for a birthday dinner on Sunday right before closing. Wok With Dave were still able to accommodate the order, including a special request for MSG free dishes. Every dish was excellent, delicious, hot, and they didn’t skimp on the portions - all dishes were full and nicely packaged for take-out. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
Got the dinner combo for 2 - comes with two spring rolls, chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli and ginger beef. The food quality is great, the ginger beef is yum and overall a really good value for the price! Comes with enough food for dinner for 2 people and lunch the next day. 10/10 would

Order for the first time last night, got the dinner for four and added Chow Mein. The Best Ginger Beef I have ever had, it wasn't sopping in sauce to make it all soggy! The sweet and sour pork was perfectly breaded and perfectly sauced as well. The Won Ton soup dumplings are incredibly tasty, could use a bit more broth though for Four people. Otherwise, all in all, excellent portions for the price you pay!Only downside is that they do not have their own delivery service, I ordered through SKIP. I would have much rather pay their in house driver. :)
