Their fresh mango cream cake is amazing - it's carefully crafted by hand and filled with mangoes, perfect for mango lovers! The cake was also not overly sweet. I also like that they're locally owned and operated. Will definitely be trying more items on their menu.

The owner should have known your business will last long when you treat your customers with respect. Apparently this store owner can only accept praise，any suggestion will be rejected with very rude attitude. I am so shocked such a business is still in the market. Good luck for the future.

Despite being right on Centre Street, this tasty gem is not necessarily easy to spot; it is more than worth the effort of finding it though!
I am not generally someone who loves cake, but that could be because North American cakes are so sickly sweet. This is not the case at Yamato. The cakes have an appropriate level of sweetness and the flavour comes from the variety of delicious ingredients and not just sugar. Here, I can genuinely say I love cake!

Black forest roll is so bad, no cream and no cherry! They are replaced with a little piece of cherry jello!?? Maybe I made a bad choice, but it just didn't encourage me to give it another try.

Yamato Bakery’s chestnut mousse cake is simply divine! The cake is perfectly fluffy, not too sweet, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. My family has been ordering from them for over a decade, and the quality has always been outstanding. The sweet, friendly local owner makes the experience even better. Most local businesses have struggling a little lately, so if you’re in the area or need a cake for special occasions, definitely check them out and support this wonderful bakery!

It's been many years since I've been here, and after driving by them one day, I decided to try the cakes from here again. Unfortunately, Yamato falls closer to 2.5 stars for me.
While the large selection of products is very welcoming and eye-catching, we found the flavours were rather bland. None of the cakes had enough flavour of any kind to distinguish one slice from another, so I had to keep telling people what they're supposed to be eating. Other than that, the texture was decent, though on the softer side as there's more mousse compared to cake.
Their prices are on the more budget friendly end and the staff are friendly, but their products need improvement. The cake box was also quite flimsy and extra care had to be taken while carrying it.
