I only had cocktails and the charcuterie board here before an event at Hotel Arts. The board was fine ... nothing amazing. The atmosphere is very cool, and the service is excellent. I come for the Sloe and Lazy cocktail which is my favourite!

Cool place, nice setting, lots of variety of food in the buffet but the food itself is kinda bleh. Some hits lots of misses and a tad expensive for what you’re getting

I went for my husband’s birthday with a total of five people in attendance. Arrived at noon and brunch went till 2 o’clock. There were several people who arrived after us. Everything was picked over when we got there, they did not refill any of the meat, fruit, french toast, or pastries. The food was nothing special. In front of me, two of the waiters said ‘we should probably replenish’ and the waiter saying ‘yeah it’s OK. Let’s just leave it.’ I did complain to the manager, but they took about three days to respond to me And only offered to have my husband and I come back and not our kids. For the price, there are definitely better brunch places in Calgary than this.

I came here with a friend, excited to try the place, but we left really disappointed. A lady greeted us when we arrived, then walked away — and no one else followed up. We waited over 15 minutes without being seated, even though we were clearly visible. Two other groups were behind us, also left standing there. It felt like we were invisible. Maybe they were understaffed or just really busy, but there was zero communication or basic courtesy.

When someone finally brought us to a table, it was set up with only one chair — for two people. Things didn’t improve from there. The buffet was a huge letdown. Most of the trays were empty. The only items consistently available were sausages, a basic green salad, and a so-called “beef stew” that was mostly potatoes with barely any beef. Occasionally, they’d bring out a tiny plate of eggs Benedict or avocado toast, and everyone would scramble to grab some. If you weren’t lucky enough to be right there, you got nothing.

Guests were just waiting for food. I honestly don’t understand how a breakfast buffet can run out like this. I could’ve spent less elsewhere for better eggs and toast without all the hassle. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Very unprofessional. Google states on their hours that it is open, no mention on the website of changes in hours. Closed for renovations. Closed with a note on the door during prime breakfast hours. Notify your customers if you will not be open.

Went for Mother's Day brunch buffet. The food was horrendously bad. Service was subpar. Won't be back.

Mothers day brunch was pretty disappointing. Firstly very expensive, we made reservations online and said there was 2 options one for about 30-35 the other for 75. We chose the cheap one, later to find out that didn't exist???. The food was hit and miss bacon and sausage was goid, desserts were good. The cheese and meat was all picked over when I was there so that sucked, there was no chese and bacon scones, there was no eggs Benny on my first trip, but I got the last eggs Benny on my second trip ( as I watched the few people behind me realise they were not getting one), had to bug staff to get one coffee refill about 1/3 of the way through meal, and they never gave me a second. 18% mandatory tip now(kinda high for buffet food) as well, 300$ + for the 4 of us dining. Buffet was well below average, with service to match. At this price level you can go anywhere in town.

We were staying at the attached hotel, hotel arts also a strong recommend, and decided to pop in for a drink before a hockey game. The staff were unbelievably warm and welcoming, especially Patrick who took the time to talk to us about the beer we were having and answer all our questions and have a nice conversation. The food was fantastic but it’s definitely the staff that will bring us back.

Was left at the front door for quite some time when there were available seats right in front of our eyes. When brought to that very seat, we once again waited for quite some time for the waiter to come. Terrible service. If you are short stuffed, please hire more. Don't save money this way.
The food was just so so. The bread was as hard as iron. The beacon, pancakes, and cakes were good. But I had no idea why this meal was worth the price.

We were at the yellow door cafe for Christmas Day, brunch a while ago and everything was disappointing. The number of food items was not the same as what was published on the online menu and what we checked for ourselves. The food was average tasting and the service was lackluster, with the server only comes around once in a while to fill our water and to ask if we like everything which we were being polite and not saying we didn't like anything as well as not telling them even how the food tasted and how things were going, eventhough everything was terrible. Then came the biggest shock of having to pay two hundred dollars per person for this disgusting meal/brunch and the servers, cooks and management didn't t even care that we were unhappy with everything. They followed up after I complained, but nothing else happened after that, which was disappointing in my view? If you're wondering why I am posting this now. It's because I only thought of doing so after I've seen the online advertisement for yellow door cafe and their 4.2 star rating which is not deserved. They were and are still an embarrassment to the dining entertainment industry.

Tried this for the YYC EXP happy hour. Old fashioned was tasty with an orange peel as I waited for my friend. We had the raw oysters which were fresh, slightly briny and delicious followed by moules frites. The mussels were in a spicy broth and the fries were tasty but looked burnt as they were a dark amber colour. Still tasted good. Next we shared a mortadella pizza. The crust was chewy and crisp and enjoyed this more than I thought. They put all the cheeses on the side since I can’t have cow milk dairy and they brought me pecorino which is pure sheep milk which I can have. They verified with the kitchen that the pecorino was indeed pure and not a blend of various milks.

Parking is next door, as this bistro is attached to Hotel Arts. It’s a nice place but they lost marks for cleanliness. The floor had crumbs and little chunks of bread. So did the heater ledge by the window where we sat. It was not busy but a quick sweep would help a lot in aesthetics and avoiding any unwanted critters. Overall, I’d consider returning for happy hour again which runs until 6pm. I didn’t look at the main menu as we had enough to eat. One last minor thing, if you’re with a senior, sit in a chair and not on the velvet bench like I did. A few times, the seat tipped forward and I was able to catch myself but if you’re dining with a mobility limited or slow reflex friend, be careful. I mention this for diners of all types so we can all enjoy a pleasant meal out.

Top notch as always. Tes (our server for breakfast) has always been so sweet. We visit this hotel frequently as staycation guests of Calgary for the pool, but the staff, food and service always exceeds our expectations. Highly recommend this hotel for the pool, the food and the incredible staff. If you’ve never stayed at hotel arts you’re missing out!

Loved the fun decor and yellow chairs here. super fun vibe! The staff was very helpful and accommodating as we had a big group for brunch. The staff were super knowledgeable with my allergies and made sure to let me know which foods were safe and put me at ease. Food was absolutely delicious for brunch. Want to go back again and try more items on menu. I highly recommend as we had a wonderful meal and great experience

I love the Yellow Door their brunch buffet never disappoints and the boutique vibes are so cute, very instagrammable.

They offer free parking in the parking lot next door which is an added perk.

Only downside is it is on the pricier side but 100% worth it at least once in awhile for a treat.
