My favourite omakase experience thus far. The food was phenomenal, my partner and I loved the little hole in the wall concept and we loved how intimate it felt despite us being in a market. The staff was amazing and super friendly. For a $50 omakase experience this place cannot be beat.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable omakase experience hidden in the heart of the city, this is the spot. The cheerful chef isn’t just skilled—he brings such warmth and joy to the whole dining experience that it instantly feels special.
The sushi is beautifully arranged, progressing from light and clean flavors to rich and creamy textures. Every piece is thoughtfully planned, showing the chef’s genuine passion and care. You can really taste the heart behind each dish.
Surprisingly, one of the biggest highlights for me was the steamed egg. Silky smooth, full of umami, and absolutely comforting. I casually mentioned how much I loved it, and the chef happily shared his secret to getting that perfect texture—just another sign of how generous and passionate he is about his craft.
And the price? Unbelievably reasonable for the quality and experience—ranging from $50 to $80? depending on the selection I think. In the middle of the city’s chaos, this place is truly a hidden gem.
Went there not expecting much for $50 omakase. I must say, the omakase experience, service and hospitality the folks there provided is on par if not better than higher end omakase places. They explained everything in detail, interacting with us during our meal and very passionate about what they do. I will highly recommend this place.

Very poor communication and service. I’m not impressed at all. I went and placed an order in person. They said it would be a 30-35 minute wait for the food. I was ok with that. However it took well over an hour because they were prioritizing making UberEats orders ahead of ours.
Some of the items we ordered were even missing components.
It is not worth the wait. I will not be coming back here.

I was told it would’ve be a 10-15 min wait for our food but ended up being a 30 min wait and I saw that other customers that ordered after us got their food before us. I believe there was an ownership change here because they used owned by the same people as ryuko which is why the service now has gotten worse.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Calgary. Everything was delicious. We liked the salmon more than the miso sablefish because it had 2x more fish, on the inside and top. The sablefish only had one layer of fish on the top. The taste of that one is very mild, a bit creamy. Most of the flavour comes from the miso sauce.
Our 3 small plates came out to just under $80 and we needed to visit 2 more vendors to become full for lunch.
