Tucked away behind an unmarked door, 4296 was a revelation. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance whispered charm and mystery. It was our first time, and wow—what a treat!
The food was absolutely amazing—each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you're into small plates or hearty mains, the menu delivers with flair.
But what truly made the night unforgettable was the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate, they made us feel like VIPs without the fuss.

We went here for our 15th anniversary, and it was amazing. The service was excellent, and the food was exceptional. We went with the "Yes Chef", the chef's choice on the menu. It's multiple courses, tasting size dishes from the menu. It's great if you can't decide what to order as well as if you want to try multiple dishes on the menu. Every dish served is a surprise and adds to your dining experience. It's seems pricey considering not knowing what will be served, but in the end, it was totally worth it. We had 2 cocktails each, and they were also quite tasty. Make sure you are hungry showing up, as you certainly will be stuffed leaving. I would definitely recommend it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Make sure you book a table in advance.

I came across this place while randomly searching for vegan restaurants in Canmore. I looked through the menu online prior to making a reservation. Although not a vegan restaurant, the menu had lots of vegan options to choose from! We ate here last night, and honestly, it didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and some of the best vegan food I've eaten. Hats off to the chefs who prepared our dinner! It's not easy finding really good vegan food! The crab rolls were my favorite! Additionally, our server was knowledgeable, super friendly, and very attentive. We really enjoyed eating here, and we will definitely be back.

This place was incredible! I came with my partner for our 5 year anniversary and it exceeded any expectations I had! I have numerous food sensitivities in addition to being a very picky eater so we dont go out for dinner often. I was anxious when we made the reservation. However, it was incredible going with the chefs plate and not knowing what was coming out! Our server did an incredible job ensuring we enjoyed each dish that came out and even brought out an alternative when we just didn't enjoy one of the dishes. She took her time explaining what each dish was with ingredients and the best way to also eat it! I'm not a fan of olives or mushrooms but I enjoyed every bite, including the edible gold! We were so full before the main dish even came out, so we got our dessert to go! Definitely come on an empty stomach, or plan to share with more then 2 people!

Very good tasting menu for the vegan chefs dinner. Caviar is a highlight. Ceviche was not our favourite because it was a little sweet. But still creative in its own right. Dessert was definitely a highlight. The service, however, was a little cold. Drinks and food were also a little over priced. Really dislike the takeout containers that added $6 to our bill. They are the kind that you apparently can get a refund for if you return to any bottle depot, but the first bottle depot I went to didn’t accept them. Super inconvenient.

Just stopped in for a drink and a little bite to eat but the food, the atmosphere a drinks were amazing…….Emily treated us great and everything was perfect! Don’t know what that John guy was doing in the corner just washing kittens though! Lol

We came here yesterday for our anniversary and the food and drinks were fantastic! Tried one cocktail from their menu (which was delicious), and the bartender had no problem mixing classic cocktails for us as requested. If we hadn't over-ate, we would have loved to head over to the speakeasy (located in the same building). Maybe next time.
But we will absolutely be back here next time we are in town!

This was an amazing culinary experience which we stumbled upon walking in a back alley. Fresh, high-quality ingredients and unique dishes & flavors, this restaurant deserves all the praise it gets. They have a menu of variety and are very inclusive of dietary restrictions. They have stunning and delicious cocktails that I have never seen before. Good service, very accommodating, 10/10 would come back again.

4296 Was such an incredible experience!! I’ve been wanting to go here for about a year now, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.
Our server, Leah, was absolutely incredible. She explained the menu to us in detail, answered all our questions, and helped us make sure we ordered enough dishes so we didn’t leave hungry, but weren’t so full we couldn’t finish our food! She made the experience absolutely amazing.
Everything we ate was incredible. It was so nice to be able to go to a nice restaurant and have so many amazing options while not eating meat. Our favourites were the hand ‘crab’ rolls, which are an absolute must. My partners favourite dish was the Szechuan ‘beef’ spring rolls, which is impressive given he eats meat!
The ambience was also amazing. It felt fancy, clean, and elevated. But still casual enough where we could relax and have a good time. I’m already so excited to come back here the next time we come to Canmore. Easily some of the best food I’ve ever eaten!
