Our server (from Paris) was amazing! I had a cocktail, which was inspired by the staff and it was delicious. We had the chef's taster meal which was delightful- delicious and somewhat adventurous. Was a very fun night- great food, all staff friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend enough!
From the moment we went in we were treated to a very special dinner. We did the 6 course tasting menu with mocktail pairings and every bite was delicious. The care, creativity and flavors where divine. The plating...including the stoneware itself...are works of art.
Thank you Chef Dany for a wonderful culinary experience. The food is exceptional, the service is flawless. Every dish is prepared expertly and has exquisite flavours. We had the mackerel, the seafood dish, the braised shortrib beef and for dessert, the lemon biscuit and curd with red currant sorbet.
We have waited since they opened to go to this restaurant. It was fantastic in all areas. The experience was a 10 out of 10. We will definitely go back.
Went to Ankor for our anniversary dinner. It was amazing all around! Service was exceptional from the maitre d' to the sommelier/waiter. The food was amazing and the ambience was lovely! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Absolutely incredible! C'est tres delicieux!! To say it was a great meal would be an understatement!!! Above and beyond what we expected for a great food experience. My 14 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son thought it was the best experience ever... better than scrolling a phone...😂. Roman.. our server was amazing. Great description of every meal. My kids now know what the top bar is for service and taste!!! Thank you again. From Medicine Hat.
Our experience was outstanding and Ankor continues to be one of the best restaurants in Western Canada. Choose the featured local and seasonal chef's tasting menu - expertly curated and presented - delightful! Favourite bite was the duck. Surprise and delight - bacon snow on the desert! Thank you Chef Danny Beaulieu and the whole team!!
This place was fantastic from beginning to end. The staff were very engaging and personable which added to the whole menu tasting and wine pairing experience. Highly recommend
Beautiful presentations, mature ambience, and knowledgeable service! The food was great but maybe combined too many ingredients in each dish. So many yummy ideas but you couldn't enjoy all of them because each overpowered the other. Regardless, still a great restaurant definitely worth trying!
No better dining experience! Danny, Matthew, Pauline and the team are always fantastic and creative with wine pairings and exceptional food and plating. Always our favorite when we are in town. Thanks, as always, ankor team.

Good service
We’ve eaten at Ankor twice already and they never fail to impress us!! All of the dishes are flavorful but I love their duck dishes the most. Service is great too.

Every dish reflected the chef’s thoughts and philosophy, which I really appreciated — and of course, everything was delicious. All the staffs & bartenders were very friendly. The restaurant is located a little off the main street from downtown, but definitely worth the visit.

I emailed the restaurant to ask if they have any New Year's Eve celebration/dinner plans as I wanted to reserve a table. I had some questions regarding the menu, etc. It's been more than a week and nobody bothered to email me back. I guess they are not interested in potential new customers.
We dined here for the second time this Saturday to celebrate my husband’s birthday (which I advised at the time of booking). Without telling us when we reserved, the whole restaurant, except our pub- style table in the corner, had been booked out for a wedding reception. The guests for the wedding started to arrive after we had ordered. It was so loud that we could not hear our waiter and he could not hear us. We certainly couldn’t enjoy each other’s company either and it detracted significantly from the food. It was absurd and the waiter was very apologetic. We spoke with the assistant manager and asked why they had accepted our reservation given the circumstances or not told us so we could have made an informed decision. She acknowledged that it was extremely loud and also apologized. The food is very good but it is not inexpensive (we were a party of three and all had the tasting menu and wine with a total bill of $750) and it was as far from an enjoyable fine dining experience as one could imagine. Despite acknowledging the legitimacy of our concern they offered nothing. I reached out to the owner the next day to explain what we had encountered and the response we received was that we should consider dining during the week in the future and they would put a note on our file to tell us if the restaurant was booked for an event. I didn’t want to write a negative review without giving them an opportunity to address our concern first. This is not Earl’s and it was not a single large table - it was the whole restaurant with extremely boisterous wedding attendees (not their fault by any means). There is no way they should have accepted our reservation in the circumstances and their response was shockingly dismissive. They serve good food but this is not a fine dining experience and they treat patrons poorly. This was not a close call - it was ridiculous. We will not be back as they clearly don’t value their customers. Fortunately, Canmore has other good restaurants where we have been treated respectfully and we will continue to patronize those restaurants instead.
