We’ve eaten at Ankor twice already and they never fail to impress us!! All of the dishes are flavorful but I love their duck dishes the most. Service is great too.

Every dish reflected the chef’s thoughts and philosophy, which I really appreciated — and of course, everything was delicious. All the staffs & bartenders were very friendly. The restaurant is located a little off the main street from downtown, but definitely worth the visit.

I emailed the restaurant to ask if they have any New Year's Eve celebration/dinner plans as I wanted to reserve a table. I had some questions regarding the menu, etc. It's been more than a week and nobody bothered to email me back. I guess they are not interested in potential new customers.

We dined here for the second time this Saturday to celebrate my husband’s birthday (which I advised at the time of booking). Without telling us when we reserved, the whole restaurant, except our pub- style table in the corner, had been booked out for a wedding reception. The guests for the wedding started to arrive after we had ordered. It was so loud that we could not hear our waiter and he could not hear us. We certainly couldn’t enjoy each other’s company either and it detracted significantly from the food. It was absurd and the waiter was very apologetic. We spoke with the assistant manager and asked why they had accepted our reservation given the circumstances or not told us so we could have made an informed decision. She acknowledged that it was extremely loud and also apologized. The food is very good but it is not inexpensive (we were a party of three and all had the tasting menu and wine with a total bill of $750) and it was as far from an enjoyable fine dining experience as one could imagine. Despite acknowledging the legitimacy of our concern they offered nothing. I reached out to the owner the next day to explain what we had encountered and the response we received was that we should consider dining during the week in the future and they would put a note on our file to tell us if the restaurant was booked for an event. I didn’t want to write a negative review without giving them an opportunity to address our concern first. This is not Earl’s and it was not a single large table - it was the whole restaurant with extremely boisterous wedding attendees (not their fault by any means). There is no way they should have accepted our reservation in the circumstances and their response was shockingly dismissive. They serve good food but this is not a fine dining experience and they treat patrons poorly. This was not a close call - it was ridiculous. We will not be back as they clearly don’t value their customers. Fortunately, Canmore has other good restaurants where we have been treated respectfully and we will continue to patronize those restaurants instead.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! It was a great experience, incredible service from Gabriel. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings and left full. The staff is incredibly well educated on all of the food and wine pairings as well. 100% recommend!

I love this fine dining restaurant in Canmore. All the staff are so pleasant, wanting to serve and please their patrons. It starts from someone opening the door, greeting their guests and making each and every person feel welcome. Their staff work together to prepare and serve unique and beautiful dishes, to accommodate dietary requests and really know and share their wonderful food. Excellent!

Excellent team! You can already tell that they are doing Hospitality and not Service. Food is on point we understood the intention of each component on every plate. Kudos to Chef Danny and to the whole kitchen team also to our bartender/server Gabriel for making sure that we are being taken care of!

Give this place a Michelin star and please recognize Ryan for his exceptional service and outstanding knowledge. He paired all of our drinks and led us through a journey together. Canada 100? Top 25? Ridiculous. Make them #1. Or not! Keep them a secret so reservations are easier for us in the future 😂

Wonderful experience. Delicious food. Smart and creative cooking. Will be back for the tasting menu.

We did the chefs tasting menu and it was phenomenal! Each dish is beautifully put together and tastes delicious. We will definitely be recommending änkôr to others and can't wait to come back sometime soon!

Ankor is a standout gem in Canmore, offering an elevated dining experience that’s truly unforgettable. The chef’s 5-course menu with wine pairings was a delight, with the foie gras stealing the show—absolutely a must-try! The flavors, presentation, and service were impeccable. Worth going out of your way for, and a must-visit if you’re in the area!

We made a reservation and had to cancel. They charged me a full $50.00 for the cancellation. I’ll go elsewhere from now on.

I've been an Ankor regular since close to their opening, and the food has always been impeccable. However, the attentiveness and timely service has gone downhill in my last two visits. Our server wasn't able to comprehend special requests despite my clarifying the ask twice...and the food from amuse bouche to the last course was extremely slow. I really hope this turns around, since this is our favourite restaurant in Calgary and the Bow Valley combined.
