BLAKE Restaurant Brewhouse and Distillery

We loved having dinner at Blake so much that we returned here a second time during our recent trip to Canmore/Banff. The broccolini, chicken dumplings, and lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl were outstanding - seasoned to perfection. Great indoor and outdoor spaces. Hands down recommend!

Went for lunch here today . I had their beef burger. In the menu it says patties . There were 2 but small . As well a blackened bun. I pitched a white bun blackened on the grill. The whole bun is black? Never added any flavor to the bun . It was actually a tasteless bun, average burger 🍔. Fries were ok . Not sure if it is worth what it cost?

CELIACS BEWARE!
I got glutened here. I called in a takeaway order and the host was kind enough to make note of my allergy. When I went to pick it up, there was nothing on the receipt and the host did not mention the gluten free modifications. I asked them and they said it was prepared gluten-free, but did not sound confident. At that point I should have just left, but I took the risk and ate it and got glutened. Not a knock on the business, but rather just warning other celiacs that it might not be worth the risk.

Our server was absolutely amazing. By far one of the most knowledgeable servers I have experienced. The food was perfectly cooked and tasted great!

Parking! Ended up here since they had a parking lot and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was attentive and helpful and the food was so tasty!
I ended up getting the vermicelli and it was fast, hot, and tasty! I do not do well with spicy food so I did not get the fish sauce. The chicken was a bit spicy for me but I ate the entire bowl, which is because it was so tasty.

Relaxed and friendly service from start to finish, our server was very clear about when she’d be back and then always showed up!

The beers we tried were good, the mixed bag of dumplings was great, the garlicky greens were so good and the amount of ricotta felt really generous. Chicken verm bowl was great too!

One of the only places open late on a Sunday and glad we found it.

Dumplings and the Bo and veggie burgers were very good.

Potato leak soup and their chocolate/coffee pit dessert were excellent.

It's not a very fancy place, but the food was definitely worth it! We had to wait a bit to get in (first sign of good food). I had the braised lamb and it was so succulent, every bite was melting in my mouth! I will definitely recommend this to anyone going there!

Amazing food! We ordered bao, dumplings, and a rice noodle bowl. Good vibes with fairy lights outside and view of the sun setting behind the mountains. Slightly off the high street but free parking just outside in the evening.

We tried the vegetable sesame dumplings and the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl. The chicken bowl was our favorite; very flavorful. The dumplings were pretty good as well. Also tried the dark chocolate oreo ice cream which was very good but is plant based so you can taste the coconut flavor. The angel cake trifle was not as great; the cream has a strong star anise flavor.

Just had great afternoon snacks and some drinks. Ben was absolutely wonderful and made our afternoon.

We came for our first visit for my Mom’s birthday and were so happy with our experience!
It met our initial requirements of a patio with a great view and vegan options.

There was no wait time to be seated and the staff were friendly and very accommodating.
The food was so tasty and the service was excellent!
I especially loved the clearly labeled vegan options in the menu and the server was also very helpful in helping identify what was vegan.
The fried oyster mushrooms were great, the big winner was the chat fries, so tasty and I loved my vegan bao with tofu and yam!!

My dad was a bit chilly but we wanted to stay on the patio for the view so the staff were so kind and brought a heater next to our table. We really appreciated that!

All in all I highly recommend Blake, a lot of restaurants in Canmore are overpriced, have terrible service, no vegan options and bad food, but this one is none of those things.

What a pleasant discovery!
