Beware! Just a heads up. The hours state that they close at 9.30pm. However depending on how busy they are, they can close anytime from 8pm. If you plan to go, expect them to close at 8pm. That way you won't be disappointed when you turn up at 8.30pm to doors shut.

Service was incredibly slow. 90 min from seated to main courses. Schnitzel was ok but “brown sauce” was just HP. Schnitzel pieces are basically breaded pork chops, not pounded.

Visited on a Wednesday evening.
The service was very friendly.
We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. The food itself was good. However, anyone who has ever eaten a Wiener Schnitzel or a Wiener-style schnitzel in Austria or Germany will probably not be completely happy with it.

Atmosphere is really good, place is clean and the servers are super nice.

But the food is really not authentic, and feels like it wasn't fully prepared on site.

A German restaurant in Canmore, might as well give it a try. Good location downtown on the main street. Good walking distance from many accommodations. Not very large, would recommend reservations during heavy tourist time. The atmosphere is so-so, nothing in particular stood out as a German style restaurant. Schnitzel is the obvious menu attraction but there are enough alternatives for a picky family. Menu selection is a good amount, not overwhelming. Meals have a good description so there shouldn't be any "What's that?" on the plate. Service was swift and courteous. I had the Paprika Goulash Soup as an appetizer. It was enough for a main! It was so delicious, tender meat, just the right amount of spice, I could have eaten another bowl. My wife and I then shared a Parmesan and herb Schnitzel with the purple cabbage and spatzle. Not as good as the goulash but tasty. The purple cabbage lacked flavor. We had the Apple Strudel for dessert. That was also very good. Pricewise, it's Canmore in August, a little much but worth it.

Kind of an empty vibe here because we went early in the day. It was quiet but we had a nice beer. A little pricey. Lovely service

For a supposed authentic German restaurant featuring schnitzel, it’s just not good for the price paid. The schnitzels are soggy and the potato rostis are just awful. The rosti are either out of a packet or premade and are thick doughy with no potato texture. The manager got our order wrong also 🙄

The Hunters Schnitzel and the Sauerbraten were amazing- huge portions also!!

The service and the ambience are completely ok. However, the food has nothing whatsoever to do with German cuisine. The Wiener Schnitzel was horrible. It gives the impression that it is pressed meat. Breading and sauce also not good. The salad was ok. Can't recommend the food.

When the blond waitress look at you and you just know he wont give you a good service. Made us wait and threw the menu at the tables and left. Of course we left also.

We have been eyeing this restaurant since we arrived in Canmore but saved the best for our last evening in town. The food was phenomenal! Our picky 14 year old cleaned his plate (Hunter Schnitzel) and said it was excellent. I also had the Hunter and loved it! Highly recommended! Ambiance and vibe at the restaurant is on point!
