Came here after the Banff Whisky Experience and I was a little worse for ware. I ordered the grilled cheese and the vegetarian chilli along with a masala chai loose brewed tea.

The grilled cheese was super simple and came on some kind of dense and lovely bread. It was soft and gooey and filling.

The chilli was more of a soup style and it was really hearty, I basically ripped up the grilled cheese and ate everything together.

The tea was spicy and exciting.

Exactly what I needed to cure my vicious hangover.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian chilli is hearty and super delicious

I always hesitate when giving low marks to businesses, especially small ones that are locally operated- but this review has been earned.
As a vegetarian, when I’m in Canmore I always drop by Harvest for their vegetarian chilli and salad. It’s an amazing meal and the cafe itself is cozy and if you can score a table it also has a great view and vibe.
On my previous visits the owner has been nothing but fantastic. It’s usually order at the counter, but she comes over with a pencil and paper and takes down our order as I’m usually with the kids etc.
Yesterday was a bit bizarre, I was with the kids and my parents so I requested the server to please take down our order. She argued with me how they only do order at the counter. I explained to her I have been there before and they have helped out- that I’m travelling with two seniors and a two children and I can’t remember their orders. She looked completely blank and told me how I wanted her to do this when the till was in the counter. I explained to her in the past “you folks walked over with a pencil and paper”- her response was “Oooooookkkkkkk”. I was disappointed in this, it was hurtful and shameful when I really wanted some small help after a longer than usual trip- I realize I don’t have a visible disability but she was unkind in this situation when we were all a bit fatigued.
She eventually came over and took our order and I thanked her.
I wasn’t done my meal when they turned the lights out in the restaurant. Their sign says they were open till 4pm. And they turned their lights out at 3pm. I asked if they were closed and they said they closed at 3pm. It was about 3:05 and I told them I would finish my meal. I rushed to finished my meal while others with me rushed to use the washroom.
On our way out an elderly man tried coming in but they told him “sorry were closed “ . He turns back and says “ so your sign is lying then?” He was referring to their open till 4pm sign.
The server without missing a beat says “ sorry the boss says we are closed”.they turned him away. I have never in my life seen such poor service and I was deeply dissatisfied as I have been going to years to this location and restaurant. I will never be going back, the way you treat your customers matters- and I’m really sad that as a business their choices have led them in this direction.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian chilli is to die for, tomato soup is also good, they also have mushroom soup. They have a variety of salads that are made fresh.

Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian and delicious vegan options

Tons of gluten free options and very tasty with lots of yummy flavors. Have desserts too and their house made sauce is great.

This place used to be so good, sad. Not only do they basically drop your food onto the table, the food is bland and inedible. AVOID the chicken and Brie unless you like unseasoned chicken, 2 pieces of Brie and no cranberries.

Very nice little cafe. We were in on a quiet Sunday for an early lunch. Service was friendly and prompt. Carrot dill soup was very good.

Casual mountain vibes for a high protein breakfast and refillable coffee station. Great for a pre-hike place to WOOF.

Modified a burrito to make it vegan, decently tasty with salsa added. Wish it was a little bigger, but good overall.

What a wonderful cafe! We enjoyed the panini's today for lunch. I had the Italian (Yum) and my mom had the grilled Bacon and cheese. Both were delicious. We were hungry so we ate both pieces but we switched so we could try both. I recommend the Italian one - great flavor. I had a coffee (medium roast) and my mom had the Canmore local beer (brown) - she liked it but felt it was strong (6%). The outside view was spectacular. Love the mountains.

Really good coffee. Unfortunately our food was not that good. Both wraps were a bit dry. Mushroom soup was okay.

Needs improvement. This hybrid self serve option is odd. What is the point of a tip?

Unfortunately they took out all the vegan options that’s available in the online menu. They have a different menu in person and there’s no tofu, vegan cheese or vegan egg substitutes. We ended up getting the avocado toast and vegan Mexican wrap but were left pretty disappointed at this change. The cafe opposite to it has better vegan selections.
