Stopped by for a handful of pastries and a coffee. Latte was great and the pastries were next level. Flaky, crispy, fresh. My favorite was the raspberry danish, true raspberry filling in the middle, not just overly sweet jelly. Stop here if you want some authentic, delicious treats!
Ordered the turkey and cranberry paste sandwich along with the monkey bread pastry because why not? Immediately ate the monkey bread. The top was dark and crisp but not burnt; the bread was delicious. Soft, perfectly flavored and at the bottom oiled on the paper. I then ate half the the turkey sandwich and loved it. SO GOOD! I also got a small Americano so all was well. Later, after summiting Sulpher Mountain Trail and returning to the car I ate the other half and was sufficiently pleased. Well worth it.
A hidden gem in Canmore! Authentic French pastries, fresh artisan breads, and the flakiest croissants. Friendly staff and cozy vibe make it a perfect stop. Highly recommend!
Owner is EXTREMELY rude. Will not be back.
Coffee was great. Danishes we're amazing. Monkey bread a bit dry.
Waiting to travel to Europe, but eating the pastries here is what I imagine it to be.
Best Bakery in canmore
Unimpressed and disappointed. The service at Le Fournil Bakery has repeatedly felt cold and dismissive, and the cakes and other offerings are really not that special in my opinion. Compared to French 50 - where the team actually cares about their guests and serves genuinely delicious items, Le Fournil comes off as entitled and uninterested in improvement. It’s clear customer experience isn’t a priority here. I strongly recommend supporting other local businesses instead.
It is an incredibly awful experience. Bad service attitude. I am not sure if it is about personal or racial. The golden hair lady treated everyone nicely and friendly, but not for me and my Asian friend. At least that is what I felt.

The view is good. But one of the middle-aged female staff members had a very poor attitude and an unpleasant tone. Although it was close to closing time, she could have politely informed me. Instead, she impatiently rushed me. When I called my friend, who had stepped outside for a smoke, to come back and gather our things, she kept interrupting me while I was on the phone. Later, when my friend returned, she wouldn’t allow him to come in and help me take our belongings. Only after realizing that I couldn’t carry both of our things alone did she finally let him in. Her attitude remained rude throughout the entire interaction.

The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming and kind. Smells amazing and is very clean. This place is quite busy and sells out quickly, which shows how popular they are. I’d love to come back in the morning to try their fresh pastries. :)

Stopped at this bakery on a whim. I'm so glad I did. The tartelette au caramel salé et chocolat was insanely good. I had meant to just grab something to go on my way, but I ended up sitting in my car savouring each bite in a near religious experience. It took a moment once it was gone to compose myself before I continued on. I'm so glad I didn't know how good these were before I went in because I would have bought a whole lot more. Absolutely will come back any/every time I'm in Canmore. Do yourself a favour and stop in. Best pastry I've ever had, hands down.
Awful service, avoid and eat at JK Bakery instead.
Thanks for NOT putting all my pastries in the box. These lemon squares now can’t be enjoyed. ?
You struggled to wrap this in a box then gave up then were lazy and put it in a bag. I’ve been a regular here for years. I know you can put little squares with the large square IN A BIGGER BOX. I suggested you give me a bigger box but you didn’t and put them in a bag then this happened. I called and asked for a refund and explained this and you refused a refund. You called back and said you would give a refund but a little too late.
The laziness of the front staff/ the cost saving of what, 20 cents?, to use a bag vs box will have cost you $50-100/ month in sales from this costumer for years to come.
