It is an incredibly awful experience. Bad service attitude. I am not sure if it is about personal or racial. The golden hair lady treated everyone nicely and friendly, but not for me and my Asian friend. At least that is what I felt.

The view is good. But one of the middle-aged female staff members had a very poor attitude and an unpleasant tone. Although it was close to closing time, she could have politely informed me. Instead, she impatiently rushed me. When I called my friend, who had stepped outside for a smoke, to come back and gather our things, she kept interrupting me while I was on the phone. Later, when my friend returned, she wouldn’t allow him to come in and help me take our belongings. Only after realizing that I couldn’t carry both of our things alone did she finally let him in. Her attitude remained rude throughout the entire interaction.

The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming and kind. Smells amazing and is very clean. This place is quite busy and sells out quickly, which shows how popular they are. I’d love to come back in the morning to try their fresh pastries. :)

Stopped at this bakery on a whim. I'm so glad I did. The tartelette au caramel salé et chocolat was insanely good. I had meant to just grab something to go on my way, but I ended up sitting in my car savouring each bite in a near religious experience. It took a moment once it was gone to compose myself before I continued on. I'm so glad I didn't know how good these were before I went in because I would have bought a whole lot more. Absolutely will come back any/every time I'm in Canmore. Do yourself a favour and stop in. Best pastry I've ever had, hands down.
Awful service, avoid and eat at JK Bakery instead.
Thanks for NOT putting all my pastries in the box. These lemon squares now can’t be enjoyed. ?
You struggled to wrap this in a box then gave up then were lazy and put it in a bag. I’ve been a regular here for years. I know you can put little squares with the large square IN A BIGGER BOX. I suggested you give me a bigger box but you didn’t and put them in a bag then this happened. I called and asked for a refund and explained this and you refused a refund. You called back and said you would give a refund but a little too late.
The laziness of the front staff/ the cost saving of what, 20 cents?, to use a bag vs box will have cost you $50-100/ month in sales from this costumer for years to come.

5 stars and more for food. Service is touch and go. Family of 4. We don't buy a nun or a loaf, we spent at least $85 each trip. Been there for the last 5 years consistently, hoping their staff will improve in their attitude towards customer service, nothing. It's touch and go of who you meet that day. Judgemental, blunt and grumpy staff. Just changes the experience and ruins your day. Sad.

Stale and underwhelming pastries. The almond chocolate croissant was oily and cloyingly sweet. The old lady was rude and gave us an attitude. Waste of time and waste of calories. Save your money and go elsewhere

Finally a bakery that bakes the pastry so it’s crispy and flaky! That golden colour… is all I want but cannot find usually! None of that none sense of pale pastries in some shops that make me so sad to just look at them.
Pure perfection. And the fact that it’s amazing not heated speaks volumes. Any mediocre pastry heated can be « passable », this one was even good after a four hour hike in -10 weather. I tasted it almost frozen, room temperature, warm, all of them amazing.
Good I don’t live here otherwise I’d be back every week ?
Aussi ils parlent français alors c’est super!

Le fournil is such a treat. Over the years, I’ve tried almost everything they have to offer. Their desserts are meticulously crafted with love and high quality ingredients; my favourite is their moist chocolate cake. Their croissants are beautifully made - crisp and flaky shell and soft and buttery layers inside. Love how they sell croissant earrings so you can dive into the metaverse! A must try is their turkey sandwich…this recipe has stayed consistent over the years with the fresh baguette and moist turkey cut, toppled with the perfect amount of refreshing cranberry mayo and garden greens. Simply the BEST!

The team and owner at Le Fournil embody excellence and care in their food, service, and atmosphere.
I was horrified today by parents permitting their young child to treat Le Fournil books and products on display as if they were her toys--hitting, banging and twisting them! Pascale, the owner, very gently and respectfully asked the family to stop child-handling the merchandise. Instead of intervening, the parents permitted the child to act out and were incredibly permissive. This disregard for others is disrespectful and unfair to a team of consumate professionals in their place of business! A bakery/patisserie is not a daycare or play space. Parents, please teach your children common sense boundaries and be responsible for your children. Le Fournil is a gem in our mountain town, and deserves customers who value what Pascale and her team have created

The chocolatine was great as far as a crispy, flaky outside and moist inside. If it had double the chocolate, I'd give it a 5/5. Tried the almond chocolatine another time and it was better. Service was prompt and polite. Small place and road construction right out front, so not the nicest atmosphere for now.
