This is out go to bakery en route to Banff/Calgary whenever we visit.
Everything they make here is delicious! Highly recommend when you're passing or in Canmore.
I used to come here all the time when I lived in Canmore, but after today, I’m done. I walked in, was on the phone with my partner (not laughing, not swearing, just talking), and said, “I’m at your favorite bakery.” I was only in the place for about two minutes.
Won't return
I waited my turn, made eye contact with the lady behind the counter, and even lowered my phone to my shoulder. I didn’t hesitate or ask questions—I get the same thing every time.
Then, out of nowhere, she decides to go on some ridiculous power trip and tells me she won’t take my order until I’m off the phone. Seriously? What kind of nonsense is this? I wasn’t being rude, I wasn’t holding up the line—I was ready to order.
If this is how they treat their regular customers, it’s pathetic. Never coming back.
As norms go in Canada, I have lived in Canada my whole life, saying its the norm is absolutely a lie.
First time, never again.
I tried to read some comment first before I put mine. I was not surprised, the staffs are rude. I had to call my partner to inform him about the parking pass and I put my phone on speaker mode because it was noisy inside the shop, then a “madame” just appeared in front of me telling me to put off the speaker even I just put it on, it’s not even a one minute call. Funny, because I am Asian, they are kinda racist. They put me in such a bad mood.
The products are good, but this is not the first time I’ve encountered one staff member who is particularly unpleasant. I bought pastries and she refused to put them in boxes. This is the first time I’ve ever seen that in a bakery. How am I supposed to bring them home after an hour-long trip when they’re only wrapped in paper? Completely unacceptable.
Exceptional baked goods, but poor customer service. Best suited for grab and go as opposed to sit down cafe. All coffee and goods are offered in paper cups and bags as opposed to plates and mugs. After I bought my coffee and sat down, I later asked for water, I was told it’s 30 cts for the cup, really!!! Can’t you put reusable glasses or something or at least provide the paper cups complimentary. You set up your machine to ask for tips even though you’re not serving tables or anything (which I left but in hindsight it wasn't deserved). As I wanted to pay the 30 cents, the transaction wouldn’t go through (below the minimum for payments by card), I was told in a cold manner, ok we will give you the cup for free, but so you know for next time, there will be a charge. There will be no next time, thank you.
It is the best bakery I have tried in Canada and is hide in Canmore!
Best bread in town
The pastries were a little burnt for our liking, but still tasty as before!
Looked all over Canada for real bread — finally found it here! Just like back home.
Awesome pastries

My favourite bakery in Canmore. The chocolatine is delicious.
Everything was good and tasty.
Approved by a French guy 👍🏻
Loved the raspberry danish for its buttery flakiness and tart raspberries. And the baguette for its crispy crust and chewy interior.
Monkey bread always fresh and delicious, caramel latte always warm and amazing art - Anne is always such a pleasure to talk to :)
Once you try 1 thing from hear you will want to try everything they have to offer, and if you do you will not be disappointed!
