This is the worst experience I ever had in the entire restaurant industry. I came with a friend at 3:55pm on February 27 when the restaurant opens at 4pm. The girl that came to talk to us told us we could not come in and wait inside. So we were there standing at the door for the 5 minutes when we could obviously be sitting at a table to just wait until we could order food. Meanwhile, the staff sat at the bar chit chatting clearly not caring that they could at least allow us to sit down or get drinks started even if the kitchen isn’t ready. Nether the less, at 4pm when she came to take us to our table she noticed we didn’t have footwear because we came from the spa as directed. She then told us we are not welcome to eat if not wearing footwear which is odd to me that we can come in our swimsuits with our boobs out soaking wet but if our foot is naked that’s a nono?! As we were walking out of the restaurant she made a joke to the entire line of customers waiting to be seated “does everybody else have footwear?”. This was so humiliating, extremely degrading and left us walking away in absolute shame and embarrassment while everyone stared and she laughed.
Being a manager of a restaurant myself I understand policies and procedures exists and staff needs to reinforce it but the way this girl made fun of us in front of everybody goes beyond what standards should be and it says a lot the kind of place this is and who you hire.
Please address this behaviour with your staff because you will only lose customers if this continues.

10 stars for our server Annika! She was the best server, always had our water filled, also made really good drink recommendations. She was attentive, but never in our bubble. Every dish we had was delicious. Scallops, Brussels sprouts, Truffle fries and the shared Lamb. Ask for Annika when you go to dine at Rhythm & Howl and you won't be disappointed.

I first want to say the service was great.
The thing that left me disappointed with the night was the food. To start the scallops, $25 for three toonie sized scallops is a joke. Reviews from only 3 months ago show the dish coming with 4 and had the same complaints about the size. If the food cost is that high they should just take it off the menu.
Then the mains, we got the two most expensive items the steak and the lamb. The steak was thin cut for $60 and the quality was leaving something to be desired. If you are advertising it as grass feed why are you covering it with two different sauces. Then there is the lamb, it was so oily, 75% of the cut was fat and then it comes with a oil based basil sauce.
I think the biggest point I am trying to make is, I am fine paying higher end prices but I expect better quality. I have spent the same price on food at different restaurants which didn't leave me feel like I was cheated.

We're local and had been wanting to try Rhythm & Howl for quite a while. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good. While the food tasted well enough, the portions (we both got the Pappardelle) were hilariously small. We had to go home and make dinner afterwards.

2 servers told us they didn’t “have time” to make a latte because “it was about to get busy” and then i watched a 3rd server make 2 lattes 15 minutes later. Food was fine, service needs improvement.

Our lunch was exceptional, it was late so we had the dining room to ourselves. A very comfortable area, the service was top notch and the food was delicious. First time I have seen deep fried battered olives on a menu so had to give it a try; so good - highly recommend!

Jessie truly went above and beyond during our visit. From the moment we were seated, he was attentive, kind, and made sure every detail was taken care of without us ever having to ask. His energy, professionalism, and genuine care completely elevated our experience. It honestly felt like he did the absolute most to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Service like this is rare, and Jessie deserves major recognition. We will absolutely be back and hope to have him as our server again!
