My wife and I had the best time sitting at the bar here! From the moment we walked in, it just felt like the perfect spot to unwind. The atmosphere was super cozy and welcoming—definitely the kind of place you want to hang out at.
And the food? Oh man, everything we tried was fantastic! Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could tell they really put thought into each dish. We were seriously impressed.
But what made the night even better was the staff. They were so friendly, fun, attentive, and really added to the great vibe. We’ll definitely be back for more of that amazing food and awesome atmosphere!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Rhythm and Howl. They offered us a dining experience that harmonizes inventive cuisine with a welcoming ambiance. From the moment we entered the doors it was a blend of stylish décor and warm service that set the tone for a memorable meal.
The menu is a thoughtfully curated mix of modern comfort food with creative twists. For starters, the Angry Prawns were an unexpected delight, balancing spice and garlic. Their main course, Bison Striploin with garlic mashed potatoes, was nothing short of exceptional — tender, flavorful, and perfectly plated.
Vegetarians and vegans will also find plenty to love, with dishes like the Lentil Wellington or Wild Mushroom Ravioli, show casing the chef’s ability to elevate simple ingredients.
Pairing the food with their expertly crafted cocktails or a selection from the extensive wine list enhances the experience further. The R &H Old Fashioned, a play on the classic Old Fashioned, was a standout with its subtle smoky notes.
The staff deserves special mention for their attentive and friendly service. They strike a perfect balance between professionalism and approachability, ensuring every guest feels at home.
It is a spot that beckons you to return, not just for the food, but for the overall experience that lingers long after your visit.
We will definitely be returning here for another memorable evening.

Good tasting burger & fries. Angry prawns were very good. Unfortunately Margherita did not match the standard of the food. Would be a great place to have some breakfast options.

As a long-term Canmore local, I have to say that this is one of my favourite places in town to go out for a bite.
The menu is teeming with creative options catering to a variety of dietary requirements, flavour is on point, service is always attentive (but never overwhelming), staff are extremely pleasant, vibes are great (perfect for a nice meal to catch up with friends/family and actually be able to hear each other talk), it’s lowkey but chic — plus, they have great specials!
This time around, I had the lentil wellington. Unsurprisingly (because, honestly, I’ve never had a bad meal here), it was absolutely delicious. I’m so excited to see what will be on their new menu, but can’t lie, I’ll be sad to see that one go!
Thanks so much, R&H team. :)
Vegetarian options: Pizzas with vegan cheese substitute, flavourful vegan appies and mains.

Popped into Rythum and Howl after work to catch up with some friends. The atmosphere was brilliant. We stayed for 2.5 hours and at no point did we feel rushed or uncared for. Our server had the perfect balance.
My friend is vegan and there were so many great options for her on the menu, she ended up choosing the lentil wellington and said it was really good.
The two other people I was with had the burger and both plates were empty at the end of of meal. They said the burgers were prefectly cooked, and the garlic aioli was the perfect compliment.
I had the bison bolognase. It was phenominal. The pasta was cooked perfect and the rich bison flavor was amazingly balanced by the sauce.
After the delightful meal we had, it would have been rude not to sample the desserts. We got an espresso cheesecake and s'more to share. Let's just say, I will always keep room room for dessert at Rythun and Howl.
This is a brilliant choice for date night, group of friends or a family to enjoy some good food with a brilliant relaxed atmosphere. My friends and I highly recommend.

I have brought my family to this location several time over the last couple years and the food and service was amazing and we bragged about it to all our friends. Last night however the food was not up to par. We chose to dine with you to celebrate wife’s 40th birthday and left disappointed and still hungry as we could not eat our main courses my steak was charred and bitter gluey mash potatoes with no seasoning and mushroom way over cooked the pasta my wife ordered was way over cooked and lacked any seasoning. The server was very nice and professional and took the mains off our bill. Sorry I don’t like writing reviews like this. I realize that you have changed your chef but I hope he wasn’t the one who cooked this last night. Very disappointing.

It was my first time here visiting from Toronto, the food was not good I ordered a margarita pizza and it seemed like the crust was bread and the sauce was canned it definitely was disappointing.

Had the special Thanks Giving 3 course meal. Soup was a lobster bisk (was delicious but a touch spicy). The salad was delicious. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing were very good. The Pumpkin Cheesecake was delicious. Felt like it was a touch pricey for the drinks.
There were plenty of zero proof drinks.
Vegetarian options: The 3 course meal, had vegetarian options for each course

Been to Rhythm and Howl about 6 times in the last 6 months, including yesterday. Our experience has always been great! We always seem fortunate to have Kristi serving us on every occasion. Never had an issue; greeted and served promptly. Food has always been fantastic. Always offered another drink. Super atmosphere. For us, Rhythm and Howl has never missed a step!
Went here on a family trip when staying in Canmore. The food was top notch and the staff was very kind. Would definitely go back if in the area.

Booked a reso here as my mom is celiac and they appeared to have a lot of options. Server was nice enough, but the service was terrible (restaurant was not busy when we arrived and didn't get busy until we had eaten and we're leaving). A tea took forever to arrive, my coffee was forgotten about and I had to ask. The coffee and baileys I had seemed curdled as it was a strange texture. When the food came there was no statement about it being gluten free. Zero water refills or offers for other drinks (until we were done and ready for the bill). They did not ask how the food was, until the plates were pushed to the side and done. I advised my meal was "ok" and nothing was said. My mom's meal (Blackened chicken) was apparently good, but I had the bison bolognese and would not recommend it. It was fatty and no flavor. Very sad to spend over 80 on a meal like this with such terrible service.
