We had such a wonderful evening on the patio at the Sterling Lounge inside the Mack Motel in Canmore. I enjoyed the most delicious trout while my husband had the burger, paired with the Bearsbie cocktail and a smoked old fashioned. Our server was absolutely delightful — we actually had her two years in a row, and she even remembered us from our wedding in Canmore last summer 💕💕💕
To top it off, she surprised us with a champagne toast to celebrate our first anniversary. Such a thoughtful touch and incredible service. Highly recommend for both the food and the experience!
The mountain and creek views don’t hurt either !

Faith was a wonderful server, her suggestions and assistance were perfect. We got hot delicious food, cold drinks and the patio was gorgeous!
Our only disappointment was they pulled my favourite item off the menu namely Crispy Cauliflower with Cashews…..please please bring them back !!
Thank you for a lovely afternoon Faith

We ate on the back patio, which is some distance from the restaurant. Somehow the food arrived hot, delicious, and service was excellent!! We really enjoyed the hotel ambiance and the staff were terrific.

Large hotel building on edge of a lovely walk along the river. Food was good but the key lime pie was poor.

Sterling Restaurant is a standout in Canmore. We repeatedly ordered from them while staying at the Malcolm Hotel and were never disappointed. The food was consistently great, and their chocolate dessert was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend!

We sat in the bar area and liked the vibe. Service was a bit slow, but the cocktails and food were all excellent. We tried both old fashioneds and liked them both. The rigatoni bolognese was very good as was the short rib poutine.

The service was exceptional and the atmosphere so peaceful. We came back because we loved the crab cakes on the old menu. The new rock crab dish doesn’t compare, had excessive lemon, was sparse in portion and value for the price although I recognize the price of crab these days is through the roof.

Very disappointed with the new menu change and the discontinued potatoes replaced with French fries. Absolutely disgusting compared to what use to get served.

Located in a hotel. Amazing service, view and ambiance in the restaurant. The prices reflect it. We tried different dishes, all pretty good. Wine flight was the least impressive.

We celebrated the wedding at the Malcolm Hotel, and decided to have dinner for two days in this place at the hotel. The food was tasty, if the portions were small, the waiter warned about it. The presentation is also beautiful and the restaurant left a good impression. Prices are above average. But there is one remark that spoiled the mood a little: on the first day of dinner, the waitress Faith asked what we were celebrating and we said that tomorrow we have a wedding. To which she replied that the next day (when we have a table reserved for two to celebrate our wedding) the restaurant will provide free dessert. The next day we came to celebrate our wedding, we were given a beautiful table and it was decorated with rose petals, but at the end of the dinner, the waitress Faith (the one who served us for two days) just brought the bill and no compliment from the institution. I don’t insist and don’t hope for something free, but then there’s no need to talk about it. I think for an institution of this level it was not worth the high cost to please us with dessert. Or at least just don’t mention it. So everything was fine, but this moment was a little disappointing
