To be completely honest, if we hadn't made plans to meet friends for dinner here, I don't know if we would have stayed. It looks a bit rougher than what we are accustomed to. There is a stage for live music, and a welcoming fireplace, which was a nice touch. It definitely has the "local bar" feel to it, which is normally not for us. That being said, NOT staying for dinner would have been such a mistake!
The service was perfect (not absent, not too much), happy hour drinks were amazing, and the food was so damn delicious! I'm sure we'll be back the next time we visit Canmore!

This used to be my go to place in Canmore for decades but I’m done here. The Drake burger and fries fall very flat now. Place seems more run down. Server was not at all friendly and rolled her eyes when my kids changed their drink while ordering. Server never came by afterwards. A thimble sized container for ketchup was enough for 3-4 fries. Food was dull and unexciting. Done with the Drake, moving on. Not really worth a visit.

I went in for a quiet Sunday dinner, and was given nothing but exceptional service. Our server was a lovely gentleman, very tall and I’d like it noted that he was super friendly, and knew lots about the place and what was on offer! It appeared like it was his first shift, and he deserves to know he did exceptionally! His service really improved our experience!

Decided to check this place out on a rainy day. Came during happy hour, which was great! The drink specials were good but the wings specials were great! My server was friendly and attentive. I suppose that since it was wing night, they had wings already prepared so the first batch of wings weren’t as fresh as I had hoped but the second were and they were yummy!

We visited Canmore this weekend and had a great time at The Drake. All the staff from servers, bartenders and especially the bouncers on saturday took great care of us and made sure we were comfortable and got what we needed. Will Definitely come back Here for another trip/ night out next time we're in canmore!

This review reflects nothing on the bartenders as they were great and showed us nothing but a good time.
The security that was working tonight was anything but professional. Upon checking all of our ID’s he realized that our cousin and her boyfriend had just turned 18. He proceeded to give his perception on how they should act at a bar (this is their first bar experience by the way). Then followed up by telling our cousins boyfriend, “I have the right to put my hands on you and throw you out” then looks at my 90lb cousin and says “don’t worry we have female security to throw you out too”
Way to ruin the mood right off the bat. All we wanted to do is celebrate a good a night out with a couple drinks. And the security working decided to go on a power trip as soon as we walked in.
Honestly with how many bars are in Canmore. You can skip this one because no one deserves to have to have a conversation like that on a night of celebration.
That male security guard ruined the whole night for us and scared my 18 year old cousin because he wanted to be tough and threaten to throw her and her boyfriend out if they acted out. You should check your staff and ensure that they actually have people skills/ general courtesy.

I recently visited The Drake this evening and had an okay experience. The service was fine, but the food didn't quite hit the mark. I ordered wings, fries, and onion rings—hard to mess up, right? Unfortunately, they tasted like they had been sitting around for a while and were just reheated. It's disappointing when such simple, classic items don't come out fresh. A little more attention to detail would go a long way here. Hopefully, they can step it up next time.
