Stumbled across The Drunken Lobster on a weekend visit to Canmore. This is the first time in a long time that I’ve had an incredible meal out & where I have said I need to go back. I can’t wait to come back and try more! The lobster roll and beef tallow fries were phenomenal. Little pricey but once you get the food it’s 100% worth the price! Such a great hidden gem! And let’s give these guys an award for best fries in Canmore! Cause beef tallow fries are where it’s at!!!

I had the seafood chowder here, and it was absolutely amazing! The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, with fresh seafood in every bite. You can really tell the quality and care that goes into the dish. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you’re a seafood lover, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommend.

Good food - Bad service

Visited the evening of October 5th and can't say I would recommend this restaurant based off of the service.

When we arrived we stood up front for an awkward amount of time and were not greeted or acknowledged, despite there being a "please wait to be seated sign" and a few empty tables.

Our table ordered 12 oysters. I eat oysters often and can with confidence say the oysters were fresh and wonderful. The person shucking them was barehanded and wearing jewelry which was off putting. When the oysters came to the table it was served on a typical platter, however we were not provided any plates or side plates and only two napkins for three of us, which we used as makeshift plates to catch the drips from the oysters. We grabbed some hot sauces from the selection and they were all disgustingly dirty. One that I picked up had what I believe to be old wilted coleslaw all over it, and all the others were grimy, sticky and dirty. I would also recommend horseradish NOT from a jar as these oysters are fresh and amazing and don't deserve to be dressed with horseradish from an old dirty jar :(

Mussels, they were fresh and tasted excellent, generous serving.

Seafood pasta, also very good, excellent portion.

Shrimp Po'boy, very underwhelming. I've never seen a Po'boy served with the tails on either? The sandwich was dry and had 3 shrimp total and were overcooked and rubbery. Fries were good.

Other things worth noting. We had to ask for cutlery. The bucket for the shells was small and we ran out of room in it quickly, having to resort to finding other areas to place them, which ended up being the person who finished their food first, we had to use their plate to put the mussel and clam shells. No one ever checked in with us to see how we were doing or how the food was or else we would have provided direct feedback about the dissatisfaction with the Po'boy. I felt a little bad for the male working as his female coworker was just standing around socializing with a group of 4 at the bar while he was left to run around and do everything. She socialized with them during our entire meal, we got to listen to her talk about all her extra curricular activities! I guess that's why we never were checked in with. Overall, I think their food is good, we enjoyed everything with the exception of the Po'boy but the service was just so lackluster that it decreased the value and experience enough that I wouldn't recommend or return.

Food was really delicious. We took the fish and chips (really fresh fish, amazing taste) and the lobster roll (super juicy and tasty). Also, nice selection of wines - the Oyster Bay Chardonnay was perfect. The service was great too, as was the ambience and the music. I really recommend it!

One of our favorite meals of our trip. Who would have thought we’d find great seafood in the middle of the Canadian Rockies? The service was excellent, and the seafood was incredibly fresh with amazing flavors. We tried the clam pot, which we hadn’t seen before, and it was absolutely delicious—the size of the clams... wow! We only wished we had more bread to soak up the delicious broth. Highly recommend for any seafood lovers! The atmosphere was great as well! Didn’t have make a reservation however would recommend in peak season.

After hearing so many good things, myself, my partner and some of our friends were eager to check this place out. The place itself is thoughtfully designed, with a cool, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're by the ocean, not nestled in the Rocky Mountains. The ambience was spot-on, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. But the real star of the evening was the food. Since there were four of us, we decided to go for the seafood boil, and wow—what a showstopper! Overall, it was a 10/10 experience.

First time here and we loved it. Mussels and clams were tasty starters with a Drunken Caesar. Enjoyed the surf and turf for dinner and chocolate torte for dessert. Friendly staff!
