We have visited Canmore a number of times over the years (we’re from Ontario) and we always have a meal at The Grizzly Paw. Today we were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Dana was our server and she was excellent; professional, welcoming, fun. My husband had the signature burger and I had fish n chips. Beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. Thank you, Grizzly Paw, for another wonderful meal.
My partner and I decided we would stop here after work. It honestly was off to a good start. The host was nice, seated us right away. We ended up waiting 15 minutes before our server finally came to our table. We figured it was busy even though she made eye contact with me many times and knew we were there. Finally she came over, we order some starters, couple drinks and our main meals. Drinks and starters shows up fairly quick. But then an hour later, we were still waiting on our main meals. Customers who came in after us were receiving their food, eating and leaving while we continued to wait. Finally after not seeing our server for a bit, she stopped by, quickly told us she forgot to input our main meals and that they were on the way and then left again. After another 10 minutes, we decided we waited long enough and went downstairs to the hostess, explained what was going on and asked for the bill. Went back to our seats and who I assume was the manager came by and asked if everything was ok. We explained we had been waiting over a hour for our meals and just want to settle the bill with what we did get and leave. He explained the storm caused everyone to move inside and that our server was trying to be a hero by taking care of the chaos downstairs. Understandable but again, people who came in way after us were still served promptly by the same server we had. they were kind enough to offer a discount but still quite a disappointing experience and a lackluster apology from our server for the poor service to top it off.
This place hit in all areas - everything was right inline with the reviews we saw and why we chose this place. Awesome aussie waitress, very glad we didn't get the he-she that we saw serving - I am sure they are a very fine Christian person but I just would rather not support what I don't believe in - yes I am entitled to my own opinion as much as anyone else who thinks their own way. JUST BE KIND AND RESPECT. If you don't like it - then you don't have to support it. If you do - then do it your way.
Bottom line I came here for food not to support alternative lifestyles. No flag needed to attract me - so please do not push agendas or value an opinion less when it's not what you like.
Great atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
Great food and service, even on a busy Saturday night. Try the pork belly burnt ends, you won't regret it!
We came here twice during our recent honeymoon. The second time was because of the excellent food/service the first time. The pork belly and ceasar salad were excellent. Sadly, the brisket mac n cheese was not very good. The brisket was shaved (maybe not brisket at all) and the dish was underwhelming. We also received poor service during our second visit.
Amazing. The chicken sandwich is the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time.

I had the Caribbean “half” chicken which was more like a half quail in size. The broccoli was burnt and the seasoning was disappointingly bland. Burger was good, but very small.

I remember there being a larger menu, when we dined last night I thought the menu was a bit limited, but both my husband and I really enjoyed the food. It's a bit pricey, but delicious and I left feeling very full! Drink selection is huge, great for trying new things. It was very busy but the tables are spaced out enough that we enjoyed our date night

Best Caesars in Town! My husband and I LOVE Caesar’s, we had one at every restaurant we visited in Canmore and these ones were by far the best. Service was amazing and food was so delish! We went back a few times because everything was so yummy!

We’ve been here several times over the years. This time we were really underwhelmed by the service. It’s a busy place and it appears the main focus is get them in and get them out. We settled up and left before ordering mains. We went a couple streets over and found a much nicer place and were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The grizzly paw is clearly a tourist attraction, there are better places.
