We had a great experience at The Local last week. Friendly service (thanks Josh), delicious food with gluten free options, the price was fair and its well behaved child friendly. There was 6 of us and everyone was happy with their meal. We will go back for sure.

I was a bit disappointed with our dining experience. There were very limited options for vegetarians. The fries were good and the portions were generous. One of the workers continuosly kept picking something on their face and looking at it. Our server was nice but could have been a bit more friendlier. It was very loud, which I understand it wasn't the staff's fault. The place closed at 10pm but a staff member was going around at 9:15pm to the empty tables turning off the candles. A group came in maybe 30 mins before closing to join their friends and I sensed one of the staff members not being impressed with people joining them at that time of night. Also I am pretty sure a customer sitting at the bar was vaping, considering it is a family restaurant that was really disappointing to see.

Nice selection of drinks and food choices. Staff were friendly but a bit slow to get out the food. Ran out of fish n chips at 6:30 PM on a Friday?! Had the salmon n quinoa which was good. The trio dessert was also nice to sample and share.

Nachos to start were great, balanced and came quick. Had the one piece fish & chips, a little less fish than I expected but bountiful fries made up for it. Apple & pear slaw was refreshing. Overall, good place, great variety in the menu. Staff were super friendly

Lovely place in Canmore. We had our lunch there, food is awesome, you will not be disappointed ! They have local beers, I tested the IPA and was good ! Very recommended!
Great place to hear some live acoustic music on a Wednesday night! Loved the atmosphere of the room and the food was great too. We had the Pork Belly bites to start and we each got a burger. Everything hit the spot, and I had a maple old fashioned with it. Would probably do a beer next time instead. The lights on the street were pretty cool this time of the year and we love coming to Canmore. Never ate here before but we look forward to coming back!

Breakfast here sucks, food was cold. Online they listed a kids menu but when we got to the restaurant, there wasn’t one so be prepared to pay $25 for a kids breakfast. There are much better breakfast spots in Canmore. I wouldn’t recommend.

Stopped by at night for dinner, was super busy couldn’t get a table, they don’t do reservations unfortunately, we had a big party. Came back at 11am for brunch, the menu they showed online was not even close to what they offered. Not much to offer kids, they don’t do lunch until 12. Once we got the food my friend’s toast was cold, the egg Benedict doesn’t specify what kind of bacon. The Hollandaise sauce was cold. The food was very below average, for how busy it was I definitely expected better. Staff don’t seem very friendly.

Cute little place but that’s where it ended. Over 23 minutes for a round of drinks - waited so long that our food came first before the drinks, server forgot to ring in my partners drink order completely and had to ask him what he had ordered, tried to order an espresso martini and specialty coffee off the drink menu but there was no coffee or espresso available at 7pm on a Friday because they “already cleaned the machine”? It’s January. Food was decent but not hot. Then to be handed a debit machine that starts at no less than 18% for a tip option with the other options going up to 25%? I am a bartender and manager and I never review anything but this was bad.
So far the best fish & chips I had in Canmore.
