Our group of four, which included a vegan and a lactose-intolerant individual, had a fantastic meal. We were impressed by the wide variety of clean-tasting dishes, especially the well-presented vegetarian sushi rolls. The standout items were the vegan karaage and crispy tofu bites; they were so good, they'd be the reason we'd return. The service was excellent.

Excellent sushi among other offerings. A very nice restaurant with very good service. I just don't understand why men feel the need to wear a ball cap to dinner.

We had such a great experience at Wild Orchid. The food quality and taste definitely give justice to their price point. The Asian server that we had was so friendly and even suggested places we could see while visiting Canmore. Would love to go back again!!!

I gave 2 stars for very pleasing, nice servers. But if your Asian, this is not your place. This place has been customed to cater Western palate. The sushi was just ok, not something I will remember. The tantan noodles was a spaghetti with a sweet miso soup. Chicken karaage was far from crunchy.
WOW! I couldn’t believe finding a place with a completely gluten-free menu. My friends and I had so much fun sharing the dishes with each other… and they were all DELICIOUS! The view from the patio was beautiful as well, and our server was very friendly and sweet.

Came back a year later. Still awesome food, good service, and fantastic gluten free menu.

Disappointed with the decline in quality – hoping it was just a bad night
I’ve always loved coming to Wild Orchid Bistro because, as someone with celiac disease, it’s amazing to eat everything on the menu without fear of cross-contamination. My husband and kids (who don’t have celiac) usually eat gluten-free with me and enjoy it just as much.
But unfortunately, our most recent visit — the second within a month — was really disappointing.
We had a 5pm reservation and were seated within 10 minutes, but the hostess/bartender just dropped the menus and walked off. It took another 5–10 minutes for a server to come take our drink order, so we ordered our food at the same time. Drinks came after 15 minutes, and food took over an hour to start arriving.
Yes, the restaurant was busy — especially for just opening at 4pm — but sadly, the food was a letdown. Most dishes were 5/10 at best: bland, lacking any seasoning (not even salt), and overwhelmed with oil — the edamame, tempura, fries, sauces — everything was drenched to the point of making us all feel unwell. Fried food is expected to be oily, but this was excessive.
The only standout was the tuna and salmon sashimi — super fresh and delicious. Everything else missed the mark.
And to top it off, four DEAD FLIES came out of the soy sauce bottle as I poured it — which was honestly just shocking. (Didn’t get a photo of that, unfortunately.)
I’m hoping this was just an off night. We’ve had great experiences here before, and I’d love to keep supporting this place — especially because safe gluten-free dining is hard to find. But this visit really missed the mark.

5 stars because it's a rare opportunity for me to not have to worry about cross-contamination when eating out. 4 stars as it was a bit too loud, and the nigiri sushi seemed not to be made with sushi rice. Food was delicious though, and decent tempura. Especially appreciated the gf ginger beef, as I've not had the opportunity to eat ginger beef in many years.

What a lovely place! We are staying on property and decided to eat dinner here. Food was phenomenal; it’s a fully gluten free restaurant with Mountain View’s. Jade was our server and she was so attentive and sweet

Lovely sushi restaurant in a quiet location, away from the busy, Main Street touristy area. Asian street fries were great. Good selection of sushi and drinks. Nice, quiet ambience. Nice views of the mountains.

It was absolutely impressive and delicious to see how classic Asian dishes merge with modern cuisine. And everything is glutenfree. Unfortunately, it's 8,000 kilometers and a 10-hour flight away from home.
The celiac-safe gluten free options are terrific. Staff is friendly.

It had been 10 years since our last visit, it wont be that long again. Great service in a busy setting, food was quick and delicious, we loved the ginger chicken and tofu, dessert manna cotti was the topper. The strawberry lemonade was also a winner. Very affordable pricing.
Thanks for the nice anniversary dinner.
