Aama Nepalese Cuisine

I came here with my partners family and we were blown away. We got two orders of Momos, the nepalese platter, and chai teas for everyone. The momos were AMAZING and the chai tea was the best I’ve ever had. I got the platter with Yak and it was very tender and tasty. Definitely will be returning for more! Patio was nice as well.

Aama is an outstanding restaurant, we are so lucky to have them in our community. The food is so flavourful and delicious and contrary to some reviews, I think the portion size to price ratio is great - I am willing to pay a bit more for food that you can tell is made with quality ingredients and would take a lot of time and care to prepare. Their Atlantic cod is delicious - and finishing your meal with their butter chai is a must.

While the dishes were reasonably well-prepared, the overall dining experience was deeply unsatisfactory. Portion sizes were insultingly small, completely disproportionate to the steep prices being charged. A restaurant at this price point should provide both quality and value, yet here, diners are left with neither. It felt less like fine dining and more like being overcharged for a snack. Unless management takes serious steps to align price with portion and value, this establishment cannot be recommended.

We had dinner and had an amazing time! This place is the best in Calgary, hands down. I’ve been to five provinces in Canada, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, and I can confidently say that this is the second best restaurant out of all five provinces, and the first in Calgary.

I absolutely loved every single dish! The only thing that bothered me was that I spent $165 for a full meal. I mean, the food was delicious, but I felt like the portions were a bit small. But other than that, everything was fantastic!

Went to an event held by Aama to present reptiles on behalf of Calgary Reptile Parties 🥳 , plenty of parking, great food and super warm and friendly staff , everyone had a fantastic time , love to see local business supporting the community 😊

Prashant was our waiter- such an attentive amazing waiter. Great service. He needs a raise!The food was delicious. You cannot go wrong with the momos. The dessert and coffees were delicious as well. We are visiting from Texas if only there was one close to our home. We enjoyed the food so thoroughly we forgot to take photos. Highly recommend!!

The whole experience was great! Friendly staff, clean tables (and washrooms too!) The food was delicious!! Lots of dairy free choices (yayyy). Tried Yak for the 1st time... it was awesome!! Worth the drive in from Calgary :)

Undoubtedly, The best momos in Cochrane can be found at Aama Nepalese Cuisine. The rich, savoury filling bursts with authentic spices, perfectly complemented by their zesty dipping sauce. A must-try for momo enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable, authentic taste experience!

Absolutely delicious! The staff was great. The Momos, potatoe chili and the soya bean salad was so good . Loved the Aama Iced Tea was so good I had 2. Definitely going back.

Very delightful dinner out with the kids. I brought my 5 year old and almost 2 year old, and the server and owners were very kind and supportive, gave the little ones plastic cups to drink out of that had a handle and a cool texture (all of their design elements from furniture to light fixtures to napkins and cutlery are beautiful, as my daughter noticed as well), that they were both very excited to drink out of ☺️😂.
On the phone when I called before to ask if they have kid friendly food, they recommended their butter chicken dish which did not disappoint my kids. They crushed almost half of it, with a side of yogurt.

The owner was so kind to help clean up after the kids a bit when my hands were full so I could also enjoy my food , which was the eggplant dish. My little guy ended up snacking on this as well and enjoyed it after he already had his dinner.

My daughter and I enjoyed the kheer, especially the Gulab jaman that came with it.

The best nepalese cuisine I've ever had!
The food was excellent and the team, especially Chef G and Tara, made us feel like home. I loved how they explained the dishes they were serving and you could taste it was prepared with love.

Nepalian style nicely decorated restaurant. Very good environment to enjoy meals with friends and family. Variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. We ordered Thupka ( veggie soup), Momo’s ( chicken and vegetable), Chicken curry bowl , Nepali spiced fries, Chow mein , Nan, Rice and other dishes. Food quality was good with medium spicy. Food quantity was less than our expectations. Nepali spiced fries was the best for me. Our friends liked chicken curry. Restaurant was pretty full during lunch time. However wait time was not long. Service was good. Staffs were friendly and knowledgeable. Food prices were higher than other similar restaurants. Sitting arrangements were somewhat comfortable. Free parking including accessible parking. Washroom was super clean and good quality. Traditional metallic utensils were used for serving who was unique to me. Highly recommend to try this restaurant
