Nigiri sushi/Sashimi lovers, this is a place you must go. The quality of the food totally worth the money.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese food. The tuna sashimi was incredibly fresh and buttery, and every piece of nigiri was a work of art.

This restaurant is not bad in quality—I just feel that for the price, it could do better.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but overall the experience was not very impressive. The seafood itself was fresh and of decent quality, but there weren’t many premium ingredients. I found the menu pairing unreasonable, and surprisingly, the fish and vinegared rice in the sushi were served at room temperature. The rice lacked aroma and tasted mediocre, and the shari was loosely packed, it was made with black vinegar, which lacked the refreshing brightness of the white vinegar and instead had a murky, cloying sweetness.… honestly, it was a bit hard to accept for me.

The staff were very polite, but their English was limited. Honestly, at this price point, the restaurant could at least provide a printed version of the day’s menu and a brief introduction. The pacing between dishes also felt… off. In Japanese restaurants, chefs usually adjust the timing according to the guest’s dining speed and serve the next course right after the previous one is finished. I personally prefer that kind of rhythm.

Top 3 omakase in Calgary in my opinion. All the courses are crafted to a perfect state of flavor. Tastes are mixed balanced.

I can definitely see why this place is so highly rated. We booked the kaiseki omakase, and were absolutely blown away by how unique and fresh the food was. The highlights for me were the hand pulled duck udon, the wagyu/foie Gras sushi, the Sesame tofu (?) appetizer, and of course everything on the sashimi platter. My partner loved the barracuda. We were also surprised how much food they provided and also the quality of it all. Plus the yuzu sake was to die for, and the service was top notch. I can't believe we can find such authentic japanese food here in Alberta, it truly is a hidden gem. We will definitely be back again!

Absolutely incredible experience. This small, intimate Japanese restaurant in Cochrane is a true hidden gem. You can tell the owners put their heart and soul into everything they do — from the carefully crafted menu to the warm, personal service. It’s not your typical walk-in spot; you need to book and order in advance so they can prepare fresh, high-quality dishes, but trust me, it’s more than worth the effort. The food is authentic and full of flavour, and the whole experience feels like being welcomed into someone’s home. Our server explained everything that we ate and a recommendation on how to eat it. We came here for my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Love the people, love the food — I can’t wait to go back.

Super fresh sushi, even it is pricey but DEFINITELY worth it. Yummy! Must-try for someone traveling from Banff to Calgary or vice versa. I am 10/10 recommended:)
